Position Summary
Provides direct patient care on the Medical-Surgical unit using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Communicates effectively with the care team and the patient/family to support safe, high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
Essential Functions<ul><li>
Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.</li><li>
Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.</li><li>
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.</li><li>
Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).</li><li>
Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).</li><li>
Assesses learning needs and delivers age/culture-appropriate patient/family education.</li><li>
Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.</li><li>
Participates in performance improvement and required continuing education.</li><li>
Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may take on-call assignments.</li><li>
Maintains regular and reliable attendance.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>

Qualifications and requirements 
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor&rsquo;s degree or associate degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:<ul><li>
BLS, ACLS, TNCC required</li><li>
1 year of experience required</li></ul>
