Position Summary</b></div><div>
The Weld Engineer is responsible for weld process development, fixture design, and weld process performance at Triton Metal Products. This role supports production by improving weld quality, consistency, and efficiency across manual and robotic welding operations. The Weld Engineer drives process standardization, continuous improvement, and cost reduction while supporting new product launches and ongoing production needs.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
Key Responsibilities</b></div><ul><li>
Develop and optimize weld processes (WPS) for new and existing products</li><li>
Design and improve weld fixtures to ensure repeatability, efficiency, and quality</li><li>
Program and optimize robotic welding systems to improve throughput and reduce variability</li><li>
Establish and maintain weld process standards, best practices, and setup guidelines</li><li>
Analyze weld performance data and drive improvements in quality, cycle time, and cost</li><li>
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for weld-related issues</li><li>
Support new product launches through APQP, including weld process readiness and validation</li><li>
Identify gaps in weld processes, tooling, and training, and implement improvements</li><li>
Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure alignment and execution</li><li>
Support weld qualification activities (WPS/PQR) in coordination with CWI</li><li>
Mentor weld technicians and support development of technical capabilities across the team</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Qualifications</b></div><ul><li>
Strong knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, TIG, robotic welding)</li><li>
Experience with weld fixture design and manufacturing processes</li><li>
Experience with robotic welding programming and optimization preferred</li><li>
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&amp;T</li><li>
Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach</li><li>
Experience with continuous improvement tools (lean, six sigma, FMEA) preferred</li><li>
Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)</li><li>
CWI certification preferred or ability to obtain</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>
Education &amp; Experience</b></div><ul><li>
Associate or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering, Welding Technology, or related field OR equivalent hands-on experience</li><li>
3&ndash;5+ years of experience in welding, fabrication, or manufacturing engineering</li></ul><div></div><div><b><br>

Welding Engineer

Full Job Description:</b></p><div><ul><li>
Interpret blueprints and drawings as well as qualified weld and setup procedures.</li><li>
Weld small and large assemblies to customer specifications, utilizing best welding processes and techniques.</li><li>
Perform scheduled operator preventative maintenance.</li><li>
Assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.</li><li>
Follow strict safety regulations such as proper PPE and equipment operation.</li><li>
Weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.</li><li>
Maintain weld gages and tooling for cleanliness and proper storage or use</li><li>
Maintain a clean and organized work environment daily</li><li>
Provide accurate and timely communication to designated Tritons regarding production, safety, or maintenance requirements through ECR&rsquo;s and verbal/written contact.</li></ul></div><p><b>
Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>
Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines</li><li>
Ability to learn basic computer skills</li><li>
Demonstrate understanding of basic math functions such as addition and subtraction of measurements as well as fraction to decimal and unit conversions.</li><li>
Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety and productivity.</li><li>
Strong understanding of weld quality/defect requirements.</li><li>
Efficient with measurement tools such as squares, protractors, calipers, weld gauges and tape measures.</li><li>
Able to fabricate assemblies, with and without fixtures.</li><li>
Ability to learn crane and/or lift operation</li></ul><p><b>
 </b><b>Required Qualifications:</b></p><div><ul><li>
1-2 years of welding experience</li><li>
Displays dependability and reliability through consistent attendance and intent to positive thinking.</li><li>
Maintains attention to task(s) at hand with a productive mindset</li><li>
Demonstrates appropriate time management through best labor utilization practices</li><li>
Strong attention to detail and demonstrates best practices to minimize scrap percentages.</li><li>
Ability to receive, follow instructions, and be a positive contributor in a team environment.</li><li>
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. and stand for most of the shift</li><li>
Strong attention to detail and steady, methodical work style</li><li>
Must be adaptable and with a positive attitude to help other team members</li><li>
Must be willing and able to perform any job assignment as production levels shift and job priorities change</li></ul></div><p><b>
