This position plays a crucial role in delivering quality patient care by assisting in electrophysiology procedures. Collaborating with other members of the care team, this role is responsible for promoting the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Center. 1. Bachelor&rsquo;s degree <b>OR</b>;</p><p>
Degree from an accredited school of Radiologic technologist with Radiology Technologist (RT) Certification.</p><p>

1. Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification.</p><p></p><p><b>

1. Prepares the EP Lab for procedures, including setting up the sterile procedure table and ensuring all necessary supplies and apparel are available.</p><p>
2. Assists in clean up and turnover of room in preparation for following procedure.</p><p>
3. Assists preparing patient for electrophysiology procedures, including prepping access site(s) and properly draping patient in the fashion that corresponds to the procedure, while maintaining standards of sterility.</p><p>
4. Sets up, operates, and troubleshoots and maintains Electrophysiology equipment, ensuring their proper functioning during procedures.</p><p>
5. 6. Accurately documents procedure charges, supply charges, fluoroscopy time and radiation dose, and contrast dosage.</p><p>
7. Collaborates with the healthcare team to maintain a sterile environment within the EP lab, adhering to infection control protocols.</p><p>
8. Ensures proper radiation safety protocols are followed, including use of lead aprons and shielding to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and oneself.</p><p>
9. Responsible for notifying physician of elevated radiation doses during procedures.</p><p>
10. Participates in quality assurance initiatives to improve the efficiency and safety of EP procedures.</p><p>
11. Assists in managing supplies and equipment within the EP lab, ensuring all necessary items are readily available.</p><p>
12. Participates in the orientation and training of new staff members and collaborate effectively with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.</p><p>
13. Prepares to respond to emergencies and provide immediate assistance during complications or adverse events, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), cardiac defibrillation, and artificial respiration.</p><p></p><p><b>
Physical Requirements:
</b></p><p>1. Ability to work within the semi-restricted and restricted environment of the Operating Room and other Perioperative support areas.</p><p>
2. Stands under hot surgical lights for prolonged periods of time.</p><p>
3. Possibility of muscle strain from lifting patients and heavy equipment, shocks and burns from cautery units and autoclaves.</p><p>
4. Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, blood and bodily fluids, extreme noise levels, radiation, lasers, drastic fluctuations in ambient temperature, etc.</p><p>
5. Ability to wear a protective lead apron for extended periods of time and exposure to radioactivity, harmful anesthesia gases and septic infections.</p><p>
6. Requires frequent lifting and positioning of patients, materials, equipment, power tools, instruments, etc.</p><p>
