We are seeking a skilled concrete petrographer to join our dynamic and growing company. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with impeccable professional credentials, experience and expertise, and the ability to navigate personnel in a team environment.</div>
<div></div><div>Responsibilities will include the following:</div>
<ul><li>Execution of petrographic investigations related to concrete and cementitious materials quality and durability as well as aggregate quality and durability.</li>
<li>Opportunities for leadership and mentoring of technicians, scientists and petrographers.</li>
<li>Development of new business services and revenue streams.</li>
<li>Enhancement of growth and expansion of the company.</li>
</ul><div>Requirements:</div>
<ul><li>Minimum of three years of experience as a petrographer in the construction materials industry with an established list of dedicated regular clients.</li>
<li>B.S. or M.S. in Geology or Materials Science with a strong background in geological and concrete material sciences.</li>
<li>Familiarity with standards and practices relevant to the industry and working knowledge of how concrete production and construction practices and durability mechanisms affect the quality and performance of cement-based construction materials.</li>
<li>Experience in supervising and managing aspects of sample preparation for petrographic investigations of concrete and other cement-based construction materials as well as aggregates and other rock products.</li>
<li>Complete ease with the operation and maintenance of optical microscopes including but not limited to stereomicroscopes and petrographic microscopes as well as demonstrable facility cameras and photomicrography.</li>
<li>Complete ease with the operation of scanning electron microscopes with energy-dispersive x-ray spectrometry and thorough understanding of best practices for chemical microanalysis via EDX.</li>
<li>Familiarity with auxiliary analytical methods relevant to concrete petrography including but not limited to X-ray Diffraction, X-ray Fluorescence, and Thermogravimetric Analysis.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of image analysis methods and their application to concrete petrography.</li>
