Job description:The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing customer transactions, maintaining proper financial records, and ensuring smooth operations at the point of sale. This role involves handling various forms of payment, issuing bills and receipts, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to company policies and industry regulations.Key Responsibilities:Customer Transactions:<ul><li>Greet customers with a warm and friendly attitude.</li><li>Process payments efficiently through cash, credit/debit cards, or other payment methods.</li><li>Issue accurate bills/receipts for all purchases, including detailed descriptions of products purchased (e.g., type of gems, weight, metal purity, etc.).</li><li>Ensure accurate invoicing by checking item descriptions, prices, and applicable taxes.</li></ul>Inventory Control &amp; Record Keeping<ul><li>Maintain up-to-date records of all transactions, ensuring that sales data is properly documented and reconciled with daily sales reports.</li><li>Assist in verifying and updating inventory records when required.</li><li>Report discrepancies or inventory shortages to the supervisor.</li></ul>Customer Service:<ul><li>Address customer queries regarding product prices, payment methods, and other related inquiries.</li><li>Handle returns, exchanges, or refunds according to company policies.</li><li>Provide information about product features, and assist customers in understanding the value of the gems and jewellery they are purchasing.</li></ul>Cash Handling:<ul><li>Handle cash transactions with care, ensuring accurate counting and storage of money.</li><li>Ensure that all cash, cheque, and card transactions are recorded and balanced at the end of each shift.</li><li>Ensure the security of the cash register, safely depositing cash when required.</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Security:<ul><li>Follow established procedures for dealing with large transactions, ensuring customer and company protection.</li><li>Adhere to all legal and company policies related to the sale of precious gems and jewellery (e.g., taxes, documentation, and authenticity certification).</li><li>Help ensure the security of high-value inventory and report any suspicious activities.</li></ul>Reports and Documentation:<ul><li>Prepare and submit daily transaction reports, summarizing the cash flow, sales volumes, and payment methods.</li><li>Ensure all payment records and receipts are filed according to company standards.</li><li>Assist with end-of-day financial reporting and audits, working with the finance or accounting department as needed.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: &#8377;20,000.00 - &#8377;30,000.00 per monthApplication Question(s):<ul><li>What is your current salary?</li><li>Do you know how to do tally prime ?</li></ul>Work Location: In person
