</p><p></p><p>The Informatics Analyst (EpicCare Ambulatory/Inpatient) is responsible for serving as a coordinating analyst on designated information systems, informatics, technology-focused, and quality evaluations and initiatives. The Informatics Analyst works as a liaison with clinical staff, including physicians, nurses, and professional allied healthcare workers, to help understand and optimize information technology systems. The position collaborates with interdisciplinary workers to craft operational and quality solutions for medical translation, pharmacy, and other services. The position performs data aggregation, analysis, data presentations, and administrative tasks related to the coordination of proposed and existing projects. The role may serve as lead and/or provide guidance on designated projects.<br>

</b></p><ul><li>Provide project coordination support and leadership for designated information systems, informatics, technology-focused, and quality evaluations and initiatives.

</li><li>Supports strategic initiatives and projects, including collaborating with physicians and staff, collecting and analyzing data, developing summary reports, dashboards, and scorecards.

</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
</li><li>Experience with hospital information systems and Epic builds strongly preferred
</li><li>Epic application certification (EpicCare Ambulatory or EpicCare Inpatient) strongly preferred
</li><li>Two or more years of post-undergraduate experience in a clinical setting, leadership, project management role with proven results, or equivalent
</li><li>Knowledge of the US health care system
</li><li>Strong analytical skills (Excel and Access experience required) and excellent problem-solving skills
</li><li>Ability to use analytic software, report generating software, and analyzing/handling large databases
</li><li>Ability to prioritize and achieve goals of multiple simultaneous projects
</li><li>Basic presentation creation skills (PowerPoint skills)
</li><li>Demonstrated ability to understand complex metrics/drivers related to patient care

Informatics Analyst

</b></p><p></p><p>In this role, the <b>Medical Healthcare Interpreter &ndash; Arabic, </b>facilitates communication between patients and families with limited English proficiency (LEP) and their physicians, nurses, lab technicians and other healthcare providers . The <b>Medical Healthcare Interpreter &ndash; Arabic </b>must be experienced and demonstrate proficiency and ability to communicate medical information accurately in both English and Arabic. Medical healthcare interpreters must also have the ability to orally interpret. The interpreter must have the ability to orally translate essential medical documents such as essential hospital documents. The medical health care interpreter must practice principles of confidentiality, impartiality, respect, professionalism, integrity, accuracy, and cultural competence when serving our Limited English Proficient patients . Medical healthcare interpreters must demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively in cross-cultural situations.<br>
</p><p></p><p>Furthermore, medical healthcare interpreters must adhere to the National Code of Ethics for Interpreters in HealthCare and the International Medical Interpreter Association&rsquo;s Medical Interpreting Standards of Practice.<br>
</p><p></p><p>Medical healthcare interpreters are expected to educate other members of the healthcare team regarding the duties, requirements and ethical standards involved in healthcare interpreting and work on coordinating with agencies/outside interpreters on dividing assignments when needed. Additionally, Medical Healthcare Interpreters advocate on behalf of patients to help facilitate communication with referring physicians and embassies to obtain demographic and medical information for UChicago Medicine. Communicates and cooperates with other UChicago Medicine departments, clinics, and physicians to assist international visitors. Works closely with case managers, pharmacy, and other clinical departments.<br>

</b></p><ul><li>Face-to-face interpreting between patients and providers in such a way that the original meaning is maintained
</li><li>Medical healthcare interpreters act in the interest of the shared goal of achieving the wellbeing of the patient
</li><li>Administrative duties include dispatching and scheduling duties, collecting and entering encounter data for monthly reports and participating in departmental initiatives.
</li><li>Occasional oral translation of clinical / procedural documents or non-clinical into the language of the patient as well as telephonic or video medical healthcare interpretation
</li><li>Educate medical staff and physicians to access all medical healthcare interpreter services and maintain strict patient confidentiality
</li><li>Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of UChicago Medicine
</li></ul><p><b>Required Qualifications
</b></p><ul><li>Undergraduate degree from an accredited University is preferred
</li><li>Successful completion of a formal program in medical interpreting Certification by CCHI or CMI within 1 year of hiring
</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Health Care Interpreter in an acute care specialty medical center is preferred
</li><li>Ability to sustain a busy and flexible work schedule
</li><li>Excellent grammatical skills in both languages
</li><li>Extensive knowledge of medical terminology especially in areas of Peds/Adult Hematology Oncology, Organ Transplant, Genetics, Neurology/Neurosurgery, ENT, Peds/Adult Orthopedics, Human Anatomy, Physiology, and medical procedures
</li><li>Interpersonal skills are required with strong orientation to customer services
</li><li>Strong understanding of cultural diversity and how it affects clinical encounters

Coordinate and schedule surgical cases, prepare consents, and maintain surgical block schedules to ensure efficient operating room utilization.</li><li>
Communicate with surgeons&rsquo; offices to verify patient records, CPT codes, and procedural details; proactively coordinate and communicate schedule changes with appropriate departments and staff to optimize room and equipment usage.</li><li>
Verify patient insurance coverage and registration information; obtain pre-authorizations and approvals; communicate with insurance carriers; and prepare accurate good faith estimates.</li><li>
Maintain effective working relationships with physicians, leadership, and staff across the Medical Center; collaborate with UCM entities to gather information, resolve issues, support projects, and fulfill committee or departmental assignments as directed.</li><li>
Support physician credentialing processes for both the Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) by partnering with the UCM Medical Staff Office to ensure timely and accurate completion of required documentation.</li><li>
Perform front desk responsibilities, including patient registration and payment collection.</li><li>
