What You&rsquo;ll Do:
Tests, services, and repairs tractors and related mechanical components.<ul><li> Diagnose and repair most transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, HVAC, brakes and air systems. May require assistance from Tech III.</li><li> Repair/Replace bolt on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.</li><li> Perform DOT inspections as outlined in USX guidelines.</li><li> Perform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driver.</li><li> Perform 90 day lease operator inspections.</li><li> Accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
</li><li> Capable of using all diagnostic equipment and resources.</li><li> Drive trucks in and out of shop before and after repairs.</li><li> Clean and maintain work area on a daily basis.</li><li> Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most SRT times.</li><li> Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.</li><li> Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers</li><li> Check vehicle fluids; transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.</li><li> Perform vehicle preventative maintenance (pm&rsquo;s) as outlined in USX pm guidelines.</li><li> Change vehicle tires.</li><li> Grease mechanical parts</li><li> Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>

What You&rsquo;ll Do:
Executes training programs as set forth by the Regional and Corporate Training management team to guarantee safe, accurate, and timely preventative maintenance or repair of equipment in the shop.

Primary Position Purpose:
The Driver Leader executes on U.S. Xpress&rsquo; initiatives daily with an obsession around driver satisfaction and customer focus. The Driver Leader is flexible and ready to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the industry and challenge of the day. 
Position Functions:
<ul><li> Supervise driver performance according to company policies, DOT regulations, all other federally or locally mandated rules/laws/guidelines.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Directly supervise multiple drivers at any given time (new hires, drivers off truck, drivers needing additional training support, etc.).</li></ul>
<ul><li> Responsible for the satisfaction of a driver while they are over the road.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Make recommendations for performance documentation to include promotions and/or terminations.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Responsible for addressing issues and disputes for drivers.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Promote safe operations.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Manage driver and make capacity available by maintaining seated truck count, accurate driver PTA&rsquo;s.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ensure drivers and equipment (i.e. fleet maintenance programs, etc.) are performing as necessary to provide on-time service.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Manage company performance objectives with drivers and monitor that performance.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Monitor and manage KPI&rsquo;s around P&amp;L, Safety, Fuel Management, and Utility.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ensure on time service is met. Address possible service issues in a timely manner while coordinating with USX Customer Service when applicable.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Communicate service deviations to Customer Service in a timely manner.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Collaborate cross-functionally to continue to drive the culture and live out our mission and core values.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Answer incoming phone calls, live chats, and emails to assist drivers with delays, service issues, trailers, payroll, etc.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Collaborate in-person with all levels of the organization to harness collective intelligence of the workforce.</li></ul>

Primary Position Purpose: 
The Driver Development Specialist is responsible for delivering driver training and development to the full driver population in orientation. This role provides classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on training. This position works in compliance with Company, Federal, and State regulations and fosters an encouraging learning environment. 
 
Position Functions: 
Conduct driver-facing development in classroom, one-on-one, and hands-on settings. 
Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, i.e., role-playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, and videos. 
Facilitate and implement simulator training and development programs; maintain knowledge of simulator technology and contribute to simulator content development and improvement recommendations. 
Provide additional one-on-one training and tutoring for at-risk students to support successful program completion. 
Maintain accurate records of attendance, class completions, evaluations, and coaching sessions in the appropriate systems. 
Perform safety-related functions including, but not limited to, accident reviews and skills and behavior assessments. 
Offer specific training and development programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills, i.e., close-quarter training, simulator training, e-learning, or other proprietary or non-proprietary training and development. 
Coach and counsel drivers in collaboration with Operations and Safety for violations of DOT Regulations, FMCSR, safety standards, and company policies. 
Conduct on-road tests and other evaluations with drivers to determine if drivers meet U.S. Xpress skills and conduct standards and are in compliance with safety, DOT, FMCSR, and company regulations and policies. 
Engage in ongoing education relating to teaching skills and complete required professional development. 
Maintain all classroom technology and equipment; responsible for reporting and tracking problems to resolution. 
Collaborate in-person with all levels of the organization to harness collective intelligence of the workforce. 
Attend all in-person meetings and trainings on recent developments, goals, and objectives. Participate in such discussions by offering input and advice. 
Regularly engage remotely and in-person with customers and potential customers to establish rapport, open communication, and expectations. 
Build credibility and trust among managed employees by providing prompt and constructive feedback in office when observing such need. 
Lead and facilitate regularly scheduled meetings and in-person trainings that harmonize collaboration internal to the department and external to other SBUs. 
Determine best practices and reinforce constructive and positive feedback through face-to-face interactions with employees on the floor in real time.

Skills &amp; Abilities 
Ability to implement new driver-facing training and development programs as required 
Ability to learn and use technology as needed; examples include, but are not limited to, ELDs, simulators, learning management tools, standard office software (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Skype, etc.), telephones, and classroom equipment 
Maintain an appropriate professional presence 
Knowledge of federal and state traffic laws preferred 
Skilled in operating an articulated vehicle and trailer up to 53&rsquo; preferred
