About UFW Foundation: </b>For nearly 20 years, the UFW Foundation has mobilized farm workers and their organizations across the country to advocate for more equitable policies, such as immigration reform, pesticide protections, heat standards, hazard pay and other worker protections. We engage constituents in systemic change to break the cycle of poverty while also providing critical services. In fact, the UFW Foundation is the largest federally accredited immigration legal service provider in the state of California. The organization has staff in California, Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, and New York.<br>
</div><div></div><div>The UFW Foundation&rsquo;s Immigration Legal Services Program provides high quality comprehensive affirmative and removal defense services and representation before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), and California State Courts. We represent low-income clients, including unaccompanied minors, in an array of affirmative and defensive applications, including but not limited to family petitions, U-visa/VAWA, Waivers, Naturalization and DACA, as well as Asylum/Withholding/CAT, Cancellation of Removal and Special Immigrants Juvenile Status (SIJS).</div><div></div><div><b><br>
SUMMARY:</b></div><div></div><div><br>
The Service Provider position will (1) provide affirmative immigration relief services/assistance; (2) may provide assistance in the representation of clients in removal proceedings; (3) outreach at assigned community college campuses and/or community events as needed; and (4) work closely with other UFW Foundation programs to drive an organizing culture which influences systemic change. The Service Provider will report to lead staff attorney or senior accredited representative.</div><div>
The UFW Foundation seeks an individual with experience working with immigrant communities that can help the organization, in collaboration with the UFW Foundation&rsquo;s various programs and departments, as well as its partners, to develop a service delivery model that will maximize the limited resources in rural communities and leverage relationships from urban centers.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</b> (This is not an exhaustive list)</div><div></div><div><br>
<ul><li>
Primary:</li><li>
Conduct initial immigration services intakes for potential clients as needed;</li><li>
Facilitates completion of affirmative immigration applications to submit to USCIS, including U/T Visas, VAWA, adjustment of status, consular processing, employment authorizations, deferred action, naturalization, among others;</li><li>
May assist in the preparation of removal defense cases;</li><li>
Assist clients in gathering supporting documents and preparing legal declarations;</li><li>
Facilitates completion of client background checks and other records as needed, including FOIAs;</li><li>
Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progress;</li><li>
Assist with reception services as needed;</li><li>
Translates documents from Spanish to English and vice-versa;</li><li>
Provides information to potential applicants;</li><li>
Provide necessary follow-up after intakes to evaluate client's eligibility. Follow up includes performing legal research, obtaining additional information from client, etc.</li><li>
Assist/coordinate and direct on-site/off-site group processing workshops and other special events;</li><li>
Development and dissemination of immigrant rights materials;</li><li>
Provide administrative and legal support to Staff Attorney (s), BIA Representatives, and other management staff;</li><li>
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading Professional publications and participating in trainings made available.</li><li>
Conducts effective and timely case management of physical, e-files, and client database.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>

Answers and screens telephone calls, and arranges conference calls.</li><li>
Travel as needed to community or workshop events, including travel on weekends.</li><li>
Coordinates own schedule and makes appointments.</li><li>
Assist other office staff with administrative needs.</li><li>
Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records.</li><li>
Greets all visitors/clients and assists them with questions and appointment needs.</li><li>
Coordinates and arranges meetings, prepares agendas, reserves and prepares facilities, and records and transcribes minutes of meetings.</li><li>
Coordinates office volunteers, interns, &amp; other staff.</li></ul></div><div></div><div><b><br>
