Software Development: Full Stack developer who can write clean, maintainable, and efficient code or various software applications and systems both BE and FE

<ul><li>Design and Architecture: Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders and in the architectural design of new features and systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
</li><li>Code Review: Diligent about reviewing code developed by other developers, providing feedback and maintain a high bar of technical excellence to make sure code is adhering to industry standard best practices like coding guidelines, elegant, efficient and maintainable code, with observability built from ground up, unit tests etc.

The Public Sector vertical is full of talented, collaborative team members that work closely to align customer and prospect goals with our amazing products. The base salary for this position is $90,000 - $95,000 annually, with the opportunity to significantly increase total earnings through a performance-based incentive compensation plan. <p>UKG is seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineer to join our Data Platform team. This role requires a self-motivated individual with a deep understanding of Data Warehouse, Near-real time analytics, CDC Eventing Platform and a passion for implementing highly scalable solutions that meet our customers' business needs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record designing and implementing cloud solutions that support large-scale data operations. <p><b>Duties and Responsibilities</b><b>:</b></p>
<ul><li>Provide technical leadership and support to UKG Data Platform engineering teams</li>
<li>Develop and maintain data systems, including but not limited to components for data flow, data storage, data retrieval, communication protocols, security, deployment processes, observability and integration points for high-volume data storage and retrieval across disparate systems.</li>
<li>Evaluate and choose appropriate programming languages, frameworks, databases, and other technologies based on project needs</li>

</ul><p><b>Basic Qualifications:</b></p>
 <ul><li>8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in lead or staff-level positions.</li>
 <li>Experience architecting enterprise data lakes, lakehouse platforms, or real-time streaming data systems.</li>
 <li>Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, or similar languages used in data engineering.</li>
 <li>Deep experience building distributed data systems using GCP services (AWS is also acceptable), including BigQuery, Postgres, AlloyDB, Dataflow (Beam), Dataform, and Pub/Sub.</li>
 <li>Leverage AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex to accelerate software development, including generating production-ready code, refactoring existing systems, debugging complex issues, and improving engineering throughput while maintaining code quality, security, and architectural standards.</li>
 <li>Experience designing security-first data pipelines with privacy-preserving transformations.</li>
 <li>Ability to break ambiguous problems into structured designs and actionable plans.</li>
 <li>Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction across teams.</li>
 <li>Strong experience integrating data-science workflows or ML/analytical models into production systems.</li>
 <li>Strong exposure for highly reliable, scalable, secure, and decoupled solution</li>
<li>Strong exposure of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery process (CI/CD)</li>
</ul><ul><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.</li>
 </ul><p><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></p>
 <ul><li>Understanding of data modeling, partitioning strategies, schema evolution, and cost-efficient query optimization.</li>
 <li>Experience working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets in cloud-based environments.</li>
 <li>Experience improving platform reliability through observability, data quality frameworks, and automated validation techniques.</li>
 <li>Experience operating in regulated environments with strong data compliance and audit requirements.</li>

</p><p>The pay range for this position is $145,600 to $209,300 The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
