Job Description 
Are you passionate about supporting students with specialized education needs? As an IEP Consultant, you will play a vital role in shaping individualized education plans that help students thrive. You will collaborate closely with schools and educators to write clear, objective IEP goals and performance levels aligned to student data. Your work empowers Uncommon&rsquo;s mission to provide equitable, tailored support to every learner, making a meaningful impact across teams and classrooms.
Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
IEP Development and Documentation<ul><li>
Write IEP Present Levels of Performance based on detailed teacher reports</li><li>
Develop precise, measurable IEP goals aligned with student assessments and strengths</li><li>
Ensure all documentation is clear, objective, and student-centered</li></ul>
Collaboration and Support<ul><li>
Work closely with school staff to gather and interpret assessment data</li><li>
Support and coach a small group of school-based or supplemental staff in IEP processes</li><li>
Contribute to cross-team communication to maintain consistent student support</li></ul>
Quality and Compliance<ul><li>
Maintain technical knowledge of the SESIS IEP system to ensure accurate records</li><li>
Uphold high standards for written descriptions of student progress and next steps</li><li>
Manage routine IEP tasks efficiently to meet deadlines</li></ul> 

Qualifications 
<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required; Master&rsquo;s degree preferred, ideally in Special Education or related field</li><li>
3 to 4 years of professional experience directly relevant to special education, such as Special Education Teacher or Coordinator</li><li>
Strong writing skills with the ability to produce objective, measurable IEP goals and reports</li><li>
Experience with IEP systems and student data interpretation is highly valued</li><li>
Ability to work independently with minimal physical demands (primarily desk work)</li><li>
Warm, clear communication style with a focus on student-centered planning</li></ul>

Compensation
The full compensation range for this role is $48.46/hr - $56.20/hr if the candidate is based out of NYC/Newark. Typically, new hires who fully meet all qualifications listed in the job description will start at $48.46/hr. Starting compensation below this reflects candidates with less experience or qualifications. Offers near the top end of the range are reserved for candidates who significantly exceed the qualifications, bringing extensive experience and specialized expertise beyond what is listed. Please note, this position is remote and the compensation will likely be geo-differentiated depending on where the candidate lives.
Compensation determinations consider relevant professional experience and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Additionally, because we value internal growth and tenure, current staff members are not subject to salary caps within this range.

Job Description 
We&rsquo;re looking for an HR Coordinator who will serve as a trusted resource for staff, delivering timely, empathetic support and ensuring smooth processes across onboarding, offboarding, workforce data, and HR operations. This role blends customer service, operational excellence, and a strong team culture to help us create an inclusive, supportive workplace. HR Team and Customer Support:<ul><li>
Using customer service ticketing systems (Zendesk), knowledge management tools, and other resources, provide support to employees and leaders. Issues can include support with our HRIS, employment verifications, and W2 access.</li><li>
Assists HR team leaders with planning, marketing, and rollout of HR programs and initiatives.</li><li>
Manages calendars and logistics; hosts and supports HR team meetings and office hours.</li><li>
Process all HR invoices in a timely manner; accurately track invoices to ensure completion.</li><li>
Support HR team culture by leading recognition of birthdays, work anniversaries, and other important milestones.</li><li>
Compiles and distributes weekly communications to HR team.</li><li>
Supports Associates with effective onboarding, off-boarding, and transferring of all employees, including I-9 compliance, data compliance, and staff files, ensuring all staff receive vital onboarding documents and separation information in a timely manner.</li></ul>
Workforce Data and Analysis:<ul><li>
Executes requests for data and delivers appropriate analysis of meaningful HR data</li><li>
Compiles information for routine reporting and analysis</li><li>
Communicates data on an established schedule to necessary stakeholders.</li><li>

 Job Description
 
 
 
 The Apprentice Teacher position provides a unique opportunity for talented individuals with limited or no teaching experience to explore the field of education and to gain hands-on practice and the training necessary to become a successful full-time classroom teacher. Apprentice Teachers will have an opportunity to observe best practices in classroom instruction and education reform from experienced teachers and school leaders at a leading charter management organization in New York City. Apprentice Teachers observe and learn from Master Teachers, co-teach with teacher-leaders, provide in-house substitute teaching coverage for teachers, and support teachers with tutoring, grading, and individual or small group student instruction. Depending on school needs and candidate background, Apprentice Teachers may also teach their own class of students, allowing for direct teaching experience within a more limited teaching load. Apprentice Teachers will also assist with a variety of work inside and outside of the classroom, including teaching Enrichment classes, organizing student events, and developing mentoring relationships with students. Through full participation in summer and school-year professional development, as well as regular meetings with an instructional coach, Apprentice Teachers will have many opportunities to gain the experience and support necessary to develop their teaching skills. By the end of the year, Apprentice Teachers will be very strong candidates for full-time teaching positions.
 
 
 
 Specific Responsibilities

 Teach classes on behalf of Deans and teacher-leaders who are observing other teachers;

 Provide substitute teaching coverage for teachers within the school;
 </li>

 Potentially teach one class or small groups of students;
 </li>

 Periodically plan and deliver instruction, gradually taking on more responsibility throughout the year;

 Develop teaching skills to potentially become a full-time teacher at the school;
 </li>

 Support students by providing one-on-one and small group tutoring daily, and small group intervention and student support;

 <li>
 Observe Master Teachers in order to improve instructional techniques and classroom management;

 Meet regularly with a coach to implement feedback on lessons and instruction;

 Teach or help coordinate an Enrichment class;
 </li>

 Assist teachers with instruction, assessments, grading, and other classroom responsibilities;

Job Description 
The College Seminar Teacher is responsible for the implementation of Uncommon&rsquo;s college seminar curriculum. The College Seminar Teacher will teach freshmen and sophomores with the goal of students building a stronger sense of purpose, a college-going mindset, and a tool kit of strong high school habits to ensure their academic and personal success. The College Seminar Teacher will also support the college office and assist with other college and school-wide initiatives as needed.
The College Seminar Teacher role is a great opportunity for an experienced academic teacher who may be interested in transitioning to a College Counselor position. If successful in this role, the College Seminar Teacher may be considered for a College Counseling position in the subsequent school year if there is an opening.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Implement College Seminar 9 and 10 curricula and activities to meet our high academic standards</li><li>
Build a college-going culture and mindset in our 9th and 10th grade students through effective implementation of curriculum, motivation, and inspiration</li><li>
Focus constantly on student learning, thinking critically and strategically to respond to student learning needs</li><li>
Create a positive, structured learning environment to ensure that students observe the school&rsquo;s core values, high expectations, and code of conduct</li><li>

Commit to continual professional growth, participating actively in our annual, three-week staff orientation training in August and instructional training throughout the school year</li><li>
