 Please note that the contract is delivery-based with a specific delivery schedule. Consultant should manage their own time and ensure submission of the deliverables as per the schedule. As consultancy contracts are deliverable based, an individual may hold concurrent contracts. Consultants will largely be remote/home-based, not office-based. However, the consultant will be required to visit the UNICEF office premises for meetings as required/agreed with the contract supervisor.

Smart demand, supply and use of data and information drives better results for children, especially when the right data and information are in the right hands at the right time as this leads to decisions that are better informed, more equitable, and more likely to protect children&rsquo;s rights. This post focuses on use of data and information (both scientific and non-scientific). The primary function of this post is to connect analytics, monitoring and learning to support evidence-based advocacy, conduct visualizations as well as to be a knowledge broker and support improved results for children. This post provides leadership, oversight, and technical capacity for the responsible analysis and use of data and information within UNICEF as well as with its partners. It includes technical support to field Offices in their own data and information analysis work to inform policy changes.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have&hellip;

Minimum requirements:

Education:
<ul>
<li>A university degree (bachelor's) in statistics, data science, demography, or a related field that includes strong quantitative training and experience.</li>
</ul>
Work Experience:
<ul>
<li>A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience at the national/international levels in data analysis, data science, data harnessing, measurement, methodological development, and other areas of applied statistics, data interpretation and use in sectors of concern to UNICEF.</li>
</ul>
Skills:
<ul>
<li>Experience in data visualizations tools is required.</li>
<li>Proven skills in using GIS and PowerBI.</li>
<li>Good analytical and evidence synthesis skills</li>
<li>Working experience in knowledge management and the ability to data and information into a narrative is an asset.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills especially in communicating complex information and concepts to non-specialist audiences</li>
</ul>
Language Requirements:

 Fluency in English is required.

Desirables:
<ul>
<li>Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.</li>
<li>Knowledge of a local language or another UN language is an asset.</li>
