Patient Care Technician Details
Essential Job Duties:
<ul><li>Collaborate with RN staff to assess patients' needs and report concerns.</li>
<li>Assist in developing and modifying care plans, prioritize patient problems, and perform medical tasks.</li>
<li>Provide patient education, follow policies, respond to emergencies, and act as a patient advocate while respecting rights and confidentiality.</li>
Evaluate interventions, maintain professionalism, and seek assistance when needed.

</li></ul>Qualifications:
<ul><li>Basic medical knowledge and patient care procedures.</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a healthcare team.</li></ul> 
 
License/Certification:
Candidate must have one of the following:
<ul><li>Valid Indiana CNA license, or</li></ul>
<ul><li>Agree to complete the Union Health PCT Training program upon hire.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Must be certified in healthcare provider BLS upon hire.</li></ul>

Our team provides comprehensive care and treatments for patients with respiratory conditions, helping to optimize lung function and enhance overall respiratory health.

UHTH Respiratory Therapy Therapist Option III (Float Pool) Details
Essential Job Duties:
<ul><li>Patient Care: Provide all phases of respiratory care and services to patients, including assessment, airway management, ventilation, and education.</li>
<li>Clinical Practice: Use clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice to develop and implement patient care plans.</li>
<li>Professionalism: Act as a patient advocate, respect patient rights, and seek appropriate assistance to address ethical dilemmas.</li>
<li>Collaboration: Work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.</li>
</ul>
License/Certification:
<ul><li>Graduate of AMA Respiratory Technician program AND successful completion of Registry examination.</li>
<li>Current BLS certification.
</li><li>Must have current Indiana Respiratory Practitioner's certification.</li>
<li>Flexible in schedule to meet the needs of the patient on a 24-hour basis.</li>
<li>Ability to perform External Cardiac Massage.</li>
<li>Willing to obtain ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification.</li>
<li>Must be willing to cross-train to work in Cardiovascular Testing and Union Hospital, Clinton Respiratory Therapy.</li>
<li>License and status must be maintained according to state, AARC, and NBRC guidelines, failure to do so may result in change of status or termination if employee can not fulfill the duties of their job description.</li></ul> 

Schedule Details:
<ul><li>Commit to eight (8) 12-hr shifts per scheduling period, including 2 weekend shifts</li>
<li>Required to work one major holiday and one minor holiday per year
</li>Provide coverage as needed at Union Hospital Terre Haute, Union Hospital Clinton, and Union Hospital Regional. 
<li>
