General Schedule</b></p><p>
Position typically works 40 hours per week Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm in-office at UCO's main campus in Edmond, Oklahoma.</p><div><div><b>
Position Overview</b></div></div><div><div>
The Creative Communications Coordinator shapes how the UCO College of Business presents itself to external audiences through authentic, creative, and intentional communications. This role is responsible for the College&rsquo;s voice across social media, digital platforms, press releases, newsletters, and event-related communications&mdash;ensuring that everything shared reflects pride in the College, alignment with its values, and a strong sense of identity.</div></div><div><div>
While this position does not manage direct relationships with external audiences, it plays a key role in shaping the College&rsquo;s public presence through storytelling, visual content, and creative communications. The coordinator serves as a culture carrier for the College of Business, bringing creativity, authenticity, and a &ldquo;bleed bronze and blue&rdquo; mindset to everything produced and shared.</div></div><div><div>
This role also supports the College&rsquo;s strategic approach to events by helping leadership prioritize initiatives that foster meaningful engagement and maximize impact, while serving as the communications lead for select high-priority events.</div></div><div><div><b>
Job Duties:</b></div></div><div><div>
Creative Communications &amp; Storytelling</div></div><ul><li><div>
Execute communications strategies in coordination with college leadership, emphasizing creativity, authenticity, and voice.</div></li><li><div>
Create and distribute content for external audiences &ndash; including social media posts, newsletters, annual report, event promotions, announcements, press releases, blogs, emails, and talking points &ndash; translating the work, people, and culture of the College into compelling stories and visual content.</div></li><li><div>
Support faculty, staff, and students in sharing information that originates from college initiatives, programs, or priorities, ensuring alignment with college identity and messaging.</div></li><li><div>
Collaborate with University Communications on press releases and media-related materials as needed.</div></li></ul><div><div>
Social Media &amp; Digital Presence</div></div><ul><li><div>
Manage the College&rsquo;s social media platforms with a focus on authentic engagement and representation of college-led initiatives.</div></li><li><div>
Curate and create digital content &mdash; including graphics, short-form videos, photos, and stories &mdash; that reflects the College&rsquo;s culture, values, and priorities, integrating it into a flexible content plan that highlights meaningful moments and initiatives.</div></li><li><div>
Monitor engagement metrics to assess impact and inform content decisions.</div></li><li><div>
Stay current with social media trends and recommend improvements aligned with the College&rsquo;s voice and goals.</div></li></ul><div><div>
Digital Communications &amp; Web Presence</div></div><ul><li><div>
Manage and maintain the College website in coordination with University Communications, ensuring content is accurate, current, accessible, and on brand.</div></li><li><div>
Ensure digital content meets University accessibility standards and brand guidelines.</div></li><li><div>
Identify opportunities to enhance the College&rsquo;s web presence, storytelling, and engagement.</div></li></ul><div><div>
Events Communications &amp; Key Initiatives</div></div><ul><li><div>
Lead communications and promotional efforts for College-led events, including select flagship events assigned by leadership, emphasizing intentionality, alignment, and meaningful impact, and supporting other events as directed without serving as primary planner.</div></li><li><div>
Participate in internal committees or working groups to prioritize events and coordinate messaging across the College.</div></li></ul><div><div>
Marketing &amp; Visual Content Development</div></div><ul><li><div>
Design or coordinate creative materials &ndash; including digital graphics, flyers, invitations, programs, and promotional content &ndash; for College initiatives, ensuring compliance with University brand standards while preserving creative integrity.</div></li><li><div>
Support photo shoots, video projects, and other visual storytelling initiatives, and update digital signage and internal displays with current College news and highlights.</div></li></ul><div><div>
Collaboration &amp; Additional Responsibilities</div></div><ul><li><div>
Maintain organized records and examples of communications and creative initiatives.</div></li><li><div>
Serve on College or University committees as requested.</div></li><li><div>
Perform other duties that support the College&rsquo;s communications and engagement goals.</div></li></ul><div><div><b>
Qualified/Experience Required</b></div></div><ul><li><div>
Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field, with approximately 1+ years of professional experience applying communications, social media, content creation, or related skills beyond coursework or internships (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).</div></li></ul><div><div><b>
Qualified/Experience Preferred</b></div></div><ul><li><div>
Demonstrated experience or strong interest in creative communications, social media, digital content, or storytelling.</div></li><li><div>
Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative tools.</div></li><li><div>
Familiarity with social media analytics and engagement metrics.</div></li><li><div>
Experience supporting communications for events or institutional initiatives.</div></li><li><div>
Familiarity with AP style is helpful but not required.</div></li></ul><div><div><b>
