The Applied Research, Innovation and Economic Development Directorate invites applications for the position of Research Assistant to work on of the UDST Quantum Materials Project (ARG01-0516-230179).</p></div>
Responsibilities:
<p>
The selected candidate will contribute to material preparation and characterization of diverse quantum materials, encompassing transition metal dichalcogenides, innovative superconductors, and two-dimensional ferromagnets. Emphasis will be placed on investigating phase transitions within these materials, as they can be manipulated by external parameters. Special attention will be given to quantum materials with relevance to energy applications, such as superconductors and magnetic materials. Specifically, the prospective candidate will play a key role in advancing research to identify new materials and explore innovative methods to enhance superconducting performance, pushing the boundaries of current technology. Responsibilities include conducting tests using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment. The successful candidate will engage collaboratively with researchers and stakeholders, including local and international collaborators and institutions, in alignment with the goals of the project.</p>
Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or master's in physics, Material Science and Engineering, or closely related disciplines from a reputable university. Successful candidates should possess a proven record of scholarly achievements and a demonstrated excellence in research. Research Assistant - Quantum Materials

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate must develop and execute projects from concept through production, utilizing best practices in digital communications, graphic design, videography, photography, production, and immersive technologies such as AR/VR for educational purposes.</p><p>
Assist and support users during sessions to maximize studio productivity and efficiency, including guidance on AR/VR and other immersive learning tools.</p><p>
Produce high-quality, educationally relevant learning objects such as videos, photos, animations, and immersive content to enhance teaching. Utilize current equipment, production techniques, and software applications to process and edit audio, video, and interactive learning materials.</p><p>
Provide training and support to faculty on media production, equipment usage, and the integration of AR/VR and other digital media in teaching and learning.</p><p>
Perform general studio maintenance, including operating system and software updates, and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.</p><p>
Organize and set up technology and documents for meetings, and coordinate the loan of technology to employees. Use the UDST online system to record and track all loans.</p><p>
Ensure all projects are properly backed up and archived to maintain availability and security.</p><p>
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.</p>
Qualifications:
