<div>The Center for the Advancement of Research on Eating Behaviors (CARE) has an opening for 1-2 Student Hourly Research Aides (RAs). CARE conducts research focused on the assessment, diagnosis, and classification of eating and weight disorders. A major goal of the center is to better understand the relationships between eating disorder behaviors, mood, and anxiety symptoms. We also conduct studies that provide free treatment to students and community members who have an eating disorder using mobile health apps and telehealth.<br>

The RA(s) selected for this position will assist the project coordinators, Associate Director of CARE, and Principal Investigator with ongoing research and study activities. The RA(s) will also learn about team-based science by collaborating with our team of research interns, PhD students, junior and senior co-investigators, and the study PI.

The CARE Lab has spaces in the Dole Human Development Center and Wakarusa Research Facility.</div>
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Job Description</b></h2>
<div><b>Lab Activities (45%)</b><ul><li>
Maintain lab space (office space and interview rooms) and research materials.</li><li>
Assist with scheduling, filing, mail processing, and completing subject payments.</li><li>
Create recruitment materials for new studies (brochures, fliers, and advertisements).</li><li>
Assist with development of study surveys, treatment materials, and mobile apps.</li></ul><b>
Data Management &amp; Research Activities (35%)</b><ul><li>
Assist the project coordinators, Associate Director, and Principal Investigator with conducting large-scale projects in clinical psychology by participating in research activities such as recruitment, screening, data collection, and data management (entry, coding, and proofing).</li><li>
Assist the project coordinators, Associate Director, and Principal Investigator with maintaining laboratory records including subject consents, logs, enrollment logs, health release forms, and study timeline reports.</li></ul><b>
Assisting with Training and Additional Lab Activities (20%)</b><ul><li>
Assist the coordinators, Associate Director, and Principal Investigator with training other undergraduates on data entry, Qualtrics, REDCap, and maintenance of daily activities lab activities.</li><li>
Attend lab meetings scheduled on Fridays from 9-10 AM CST, which involves discussion of lab business, as well as readings in the area of eating disorders, psychopathology, and psychological assessment. You will also attend 1-2 project meetings per week to discuss goals and progress of grants.</li><li>
Complete a science communications project conveying study results to lay audiences.</li><li>
Coordinate outreach opportunities on campus and in the community</li></ul></div>
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Required Qualifications</b></h2>
<div><ul><li>Experience in a laboratory environment.</li><li>
Research or work experience relevant to eating and weight disorders, mental illness, or psychology.</li><li>
Ability to work to a deadline, as evidenced in application materials.</li></ul></div>

<div>During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).</div>

<div>(1) Student employees are <b>not</b> eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

Undergraduate Research Aide (Student Hourly)

<div><p>This Student Research Assistant role supports a project examining the role nonprofit organizations play in strengthening community resilience. The research focuses on how nonprofit operations, strategies, capacities, and institutional connections influence resilience outcomes. In this position, the student will primarily assist with identifying, gathering, and verifying contact information for nonprofit representatives who will be invited to participate in surveys as part of the data collection process.</p></div>
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Job Description</b></h2>
<div><b>100%- Data Collection</b><ul><li>
Conduct web-based searches to identify the names, email addresses, and mailing addresses of representatives from designated nonprofit organizations.</li><li>
Accurately update and maintain the spreadsheet with verified contact information.</li></ul></div>
<h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Required Qualifications</b></h2>
<div><ul><li>Experience with Microsoft Excel, including data entry, sorting, and filtering, as indicated in application materials.</li><li>
