Student Outdoor Pursuits Program Manager

<div><div>KU&rsquo;s Wingspan: Center for Learning and Writing Support offers a portfolio of collaborative, innovative academic support programs and services to students, faculty, and staff. The Wingspan provides individual and group support through its Peer Academic Coaching program, Supplemental Instruction (SI) program, Tutoring Services, and Writing Center Services. The Wingspan is a part of the University Academic Support Centers (UASC), a comprehensive student support program consisting of two unique centers designed to strengthen the academic skills and written communication of students at the University of Kansas. UASC supports the University&rsquo;s commitment to the academic success and holistic development of students. UASC programs encourage student participation both in<br>
and out of the classroom, support academic and personal development, and link students to other campus and community resources for academic and personal support and development. University Academic Support Centers is a department within Academic Affairs.<br>

Peer Tutors meet with students regularly to review content in a specific class. They are student role models who enjoy engaging their peers in the learning process. Tutors are hired year-round, although the need for additional tutors will vary during the semester and between semesters.<br>

Peer Tutors will support tutoring by tutoring for classes they received a B or higher in. Peer Tutors must be available to tutor for a minimum of 6 hours per week through the last week of classes. <div>During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).</div>

Wingspan Peer Tutor - Student Hourly

<div><h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Position Overview</b></h2>
<div><p>Lecturers serve as either part-time or full-time members of the faculty in the School of Business. FTE is determined by the course load. Lecturers are a non-tenure track faculty position. Teaching assignments may include undergraduate and/or graduate courses offered by the School of Business on the Lawrence Campus, Edwards Campus, off campus programs, and/or online programs.
</p><p>Lecturers serve as participating members of departments and should engage in instruction-related activities beyond direct instruction. Examples include curriculum development committees, course improvement initiatives, and advising.

The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before employment begins. Any employment with the University of Kansas is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check.

<div><p><b>80% Teaching. </b>Teach one or more courses in Finance/Economics. Courses may be required or electives, in undergraduate or graduate programs, and range from 1-4 credit hours. Duties include but are not limited to: course preparation, instruction, consultations, and assignment of grades. Lecturers should abide by the area's, School's and University's policies and procedures.
</p><p><b>20% Service.</b> Participate in events, meetings, committees, and/or leadership roles as needed to support the Area, School, and University. Specific duties will vary by individual. Examples include leadership of student organizations, advising, attendance at school events, and working on curricular or other committees.

</b></p><ul><li><p>Master&rsquo;s degree in relevant discipline or closely related field.

</b></p><ul><li><p>Terminal degree/professional degree in relevant discipline, OR a master&rsquo;s degree plus seven years of relevant experience.
