</p><p></p><p>The Department of Radiology is currently seeking a per diem Staff Physician. The Staff Physician (per diem) provides patient care by interviewing and treating of clinical patients in order to meet their medical needs. The Staff Physician educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families.
</p><ul><li><p>Interpret Neuro, CTs, and MR as required by the Department.
</p></li><li><p>Supervise performance of technical personnel.
</p></li><li><p>Be involved in on-call radiology schedule.
</p></li><li><p>Exercise quality assurance as related to the practice of diagnostic radiology / neuroradiology.
</p></li><li><p>Provide diagnostic imaging consultations as requested.
</p></li><li><p>Provide emergency patient care related to imaging as required in the setting of a radiology practice.
</p></li><li><p>Participate in teaching activities related to neuroradiology as required in Technological radiology educational programs
</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
</b></p><ul><li><p>M.D. degree. Physician license required.

The Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Miami, Leonard Miller School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in surgical oncology. We have strong multidisciplinary programs in breast and cutaneous oncology that work to provide high quality clinical care and access to cutting edge clinical trials. Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only university-based, NCI-designated cancer center in South Florida and is focused on innovation in cancer care.</div></div><div></div><div><div><br>
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (For-exempt Employees Include Percent of Effort):</div></div><div><div>
Job responsibilities include participation in clinical and educational activities as they relate to the Division of Surgical Oncology and the Department of Surgery:</div></div><div><ul><li><div>
Oversees outcomes, quality, and patient experience for the program</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Coordinates and provide scheduling services for physicians to ensure coverage to perform services when scheduled</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Maintain administrative records pertaining to the scheduling of all physicians and ensure the hospital (s) has/have reasonable access to such records</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Perform daily unit rounds on all assigned inpatients and perform all inpatient follow up during the inpatient stay</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Provide outpatient professional medical services performed in all scheduled clinics related to the Program.</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Participate in regular outpatient clinics for the Program</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Coordinate inpatient care and clinic care under the Program with the patient&rsquo;s primary physician</div></li></ul></div></div><div><div><ul><li><div>
Collaborate with other physicians and hospital personnel (including case managers) to reduce medically unnecessary use of resources and length of stay and coordinate interdepartmental patient care.</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Provide assistance as needed to bed control and other hospital personnel to facilitate patient throughput</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Respond in a timely fashion to patients, other physicians or hospital personnel making patient care-related inquiries</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Work collaboratively to implement clinical effectiveness programs, including clinical pathways and other similar guidelines and protocols as needed</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Participate in all root cause analysis and related activities conducted for the Program at all sites of service</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Work collaboratively with hospital personnel to implement the quality goals of the Program and implement quality initiatives to address any identified deficiencies</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Participate in periodic meetings with unit personnel at the hospital related to core measures and patient and physician satisfaction</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Implement teaching activities related to residents and fellows rotating through the Program</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Work with hospital personnel to obtain all mutually agreed upon program designations of distinction</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>
Provides professional medical services twenty four hours a day and seven days a week for 365 days (or 366 as the case may be) a year to all inpatients/outpatients in the Program in collaboration with other Faculty in the section and the division.</div></li></ul></div><div></div><div><div><br>

Along with proper training and certification, the incumbent must have a keen interest in and concern for the needs of surgical oncology patients, and other related surgical anamolies.</div></div><div><ul><li><div>

Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatments</div></li></ul></div><div><ul><li><div>

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):</div></div><div><div>
Applicants should have a strong commitment to patient care and education and an interest in clinical research. Bachelor's degree in pre-medicine or related field, followed by 4 years in medical school and additional residency and fellowship specialty training.</div></div><div></div><div><ul><li><div><br>
Eligible candidates must be board certified in surgery, be able to obtain and maintain a valid DEA Registration and Florida Medical License, and have completed an ACGME approved plastic surgery fellowship.</div></li></ul></div><div></div><div><div><br>
Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):</div></div><div><ul><li><div>
0 &ndash; 5 years post fellowship clinical experience in the field of breast surgery preferred</div></li></ul></div></div><div></div><div>

Summary of Job Responsibilities:</div></div><div><div>
This individual will provide excellent rheumatology consultative and follow-up care at one or more Uhealth affiliated facilities to adult patients. He/ She will also provide inpatient and out-patient medical consultation in a variety of settings. Engagement in teaching and scholarly activities that are an institutional service and are seen as essential parts of the position, including participation in quality improvement and systems compliance initiatives, and Division/ Departmental Medical School and University-wide service and conferences.</div></div><div></div><div><div>
