Department Summary

The Department of Information Science offers programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Our programs are nationally recognized and ranked. The Master of Science program with majors in Library Science and Information Science is accredited by the American Library Association. The School Library Media Certification is ranked tenth in the nation and the Health Informatics program is ranked seventh in the nation. We also offer the nation&rsquo;s largest interdisciplinary Ph.D. program in Information Science. 
 
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. Position Overview

The Department of Information Science seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.
Minimum Qualifications

Master&rsquo;s Degree in Information Science or related field(s).
Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Information Science or related field(s) 
 
5 years of teaching or professional industry experience 
 
Teaching experience in graduate-level courses at UNT or similar higher institutions of education. Ability to teach and lead online instruction, and familiarity with the Canvas academic platform.

Department Summary

The Office of Financial Analysis &amp; Planning has a strong commitment to provide flexible, solution-oriented and timely service to UNT System institutions and System Administration. In support of the UNT System and individual component missions, the office is responsible for:

Position Overview

The Senior Budget Analyst provides budget support for the UNT System Administration and UNT System Enterprise budgets.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or other related field and four years of related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
<ul><li>Considerable knowledge of (or ability to rapidly assimilate and retain) University operating procedures, organization and policies.</li><li>Considerable knowledge of business and accounting principles, practices and techniques.</li><li>Knowledge of various budgeting methods (e.g., zero-based, incremental) and the ability to apply them effectively.</li><li>Knowledge of electronic information systems and accounting systems.</li><li>Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.</li><li>Experience managing budget information and accurately recording financial transactions.</li><li>Capacity to think critically and independently, assessing financial situations from multiple perspectives.</li><li>Ability to assemble and organize data of complex nature, to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.</li><li>Strong ability to read and analyze fiscal management information and to assist in formulating solutions to problems.</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.</li><li>Strong communications skills.</li><li>Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed</li></ul>

<li>Prepares and analyzes department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls.</li>
<li>Serves as Budget Office liaison to specific units of the System as assigned.</li>
<li>Uses the PeopleSoft financial system to create or approve budget journal and transfers.</li>
<li>Provides a positive customer service experience by guiding individuals through the complexities of financial systems and processes, ensuring clear communication and support.</li>
<li>Evaluate and improve training materials, job aides and reports available to stakeholders.</li>
<li>Reviews and approves the reconciliation of accounting records.</li>
<li>Participates in annual budget submission, state reporting requirements, intra-system agreements, etc.</li>
<li>Assist in process and report improvements to support budget management and budget controls, including monitoring of budget adjustments.</li>

The University of North Texas (UNT) Student Health and Wellness Center is a full-service medical center offering all UNT students general wellness and specialty medical care. We are staffed with licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified lab technologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, licensed nurses, and medical assistants.
Position Overview

Acts as a Patient Service Liaison and Health Insurance Representative and verifies patient insurance benefits.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
<ul><li>Knowledge of ICD-9/10 CM, HCPC, and CPT coding systems and how to apply them accurately to medical records.</li><li>Familiarity with medical documentation standards, coding guidelines, and regulatory requirements for billing.</li><li>Understanding of healthcare billing processes and the importance of accurate coding for compliance and reimbursement.</li><li>Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate coding and to identify clinical activities that need billing information.</li><li>Excellent communication skills to work effectively with providers, address discrepancies, and clarify diagnosis or procedure codes.</li><li>Proficiency in reviewing and validating medical records and claims to ensure compliance with coding and documentation requirements.</li><li>Ability to resolve coding and documentation issues promptly in a clinic environment, ensuring timely billing and compliance.</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills to address and correct coding mismatches or errors in collaboration with providers.</li></ul>

<li>Abstracts clinical information from a variety of medical records to assign appropriate ICD 9/10 CM, HCPC and/or CPT codes to patient records.</li>
<li>Reviews claim prior to submission to assure that they are complete, accurate and in compliance with coding and documentation requirements.</li>
<li>Communicates effectively with providers to improve coding and assure documentation supports the codes assigned.</li>
<li>Communicates with management personnel about any coding or billing matters that may place the organization or individual provider at risk of noncompliance. If necessary, takes that issue up the management chain to reach a resolution.</li>
<li>Processes billing record requests and maintains files of supporting documentation for billing.</li>
<li>Provides timely and accurate filing of all health insurance claims to third party payers, processes payments received from third party payers and reconcile accounts.</li>
<li>Works claim denials in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Answers billing and insurance questions for internal and external customers.</li>
<li>Verifies and updates customer demographic information, insurance information and guarantors.</li>
<li>Resolves billing account issues; contacts customers and guarantors on a monthly basis regarding delinquent accounts.</li>
