Position Summary</h2>
The Sheetmetal Foreman &ndash; Mechanical leads and supervises a small crew to safely and efficiently execute mechanical and sheet metal work in the field. This hands-on leadership role ensures the crew meets safety, quality, and productivity goals while performing regular trade work alongside the team. The Foreman is responsible for scheduling and coordinating daily activities, assigning tasks, and supporting project delivery through clear communication with field teams, superintendents, project managers, and clients.
This position requires strong technical expertise, the ability to interpret blueprints and specifications, and the leadership skills to maintain high standards of workmanship and crew performance.<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Key Responsibilities</h2><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Leadership &amp; Supervision</h2><ul><li>
Perform regular non-supervisory work alongside the crew; set the pace and demonstrate proper work methods.</li><li>
Lead the crew in following instructions received from supervisors and ensuring all deadlines are met.</li><li>
Pass on instructions from supervisors and assign daily tasks to crew members.</li><li>
Ensure new crew members are oriented to the job and understand expectations.</li><li>
Assess the skill level and competency of each crew member; establish benchmarks for quality and productivity.</li><li>
Coordinate on-the-job training and ensure apprentices are properly mentored by journeymen.</li><li>
Promote teamwork, morale, and positive work behavior within the crew.</li><li>
Maintain current knowledge of procedures, policies, blueprints, technical orders, and job directives.</li><li>
Ensure adequate workflow to keep all crew members productive.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Safety</h2><ul><li>
Facilitate and promote a strong, proactive safety culture.</li><li>
Ensure daily adherence to safety standards and verify all workers are fit for duty.</li><li>
Conduct weekly toolbox talks and provide guidance on technical safety questions.</li><li>
Participate in safety and incident investigations and complete all required reports promptly.</li><li>
Ensure the work area remains clean, organized, and hazard-free at all times.</li><li>
Confirm the daily Task Hazard Analysis (THA) is completed before work begins.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Planning &amp; Scheduling</h2><ul><li>
Understand project plans, blueprints, and schedules; ensure crew activities align with production goals.</li><li>
Ensure availability of all required tools, materials, and equipment; obtain supplies as needed.</li><li>
Identify deficiencies in the project plan or schedule and communicate them promptly to the appropriate parties.</li><li>
Translate general work requirements into prioritized daily assignments for the crew.</li><li>
Adjust project tasks and crew schedules as needed to maintain productivity.</li><li>
Report equipment and material shortages to the superintendent.</li><li>
Coordinate with other trades to resolve scheduling conflicts.</li><li>
Work with the crew to overcome job challenges and maintain efficient workflow.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Quality Control</h2><ul><li>
Ensure all work meets or exceeds quality standards, specifications, and project requirements.</li><li>
Verify that all crew members follow blueprints, plans, and applicable codes.</li><li>
Inspect work in progress and completed tasks; initiate corrective actions promptly.</li><li>
Recommend improved work processes to enhance productivity and quality.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Administration</h2><ul><li>
Maintain accurate and detailed daily foreman logs or diaries.</li><li>
Prepare all required reports, documentation, and timekeeping records.</li><li>
Document late starts, early departures, and absences.</li><li>
Assist the superintendent with tracking production, work progress, and quality documentation.</li><li>
Recommend personnel actions including hiring, promotions, and disciplinary measures.</li><li>
Perform additional duties as requested by management.</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Qualifications</h2><ul><li>
7+ years sheetmetal experience + 5+ years as a qualified tradesperson.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of sheetmetal systems, codes, and blueprints.</li><li>
Familiarity with other construction crafts.</li><li>
Proven leadership and crew supervision experience.</li><li>
Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Ability to manage documentation and administrative duties.</li><li>
Understanding of OSHA and safety regulations.</li><li>

The Purchasing Agent supports the execution of established procurement strategies by coordinating project-level procurement activities across construction operations. This role works closely with project teams, vendors, and purchasing leadership to support consistent application of purchasing standards, vendor programs, and sourcing direction.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement &amp; Vendor Management<ul><li>Support execution of established purchasing strategies by coordinating project buyouts and vendor engagement in alignment with budgets and schedules.</li><li>Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.</li><li>Maintain a qualified vendor and subcontractor network.</li><li>Support procurement execution for major material packages and subcontracted scopes, including coordination of purchasing documentation as needed.</li><li>Monitor supplier performance for cost, quality, delivery, and service.</li><li>Support preferred vendor and national account programs.</li><li>Ensure field teams leverage negotiated pricing and agreements.</li><li>Coordinate vendor relationships across divisions to reduce fragmentation.</li><li>Serve as a key liaison between Project Managers, field teams, vendors, and the Director of Purchasing on procurement-related questions and issues.</li></ul>
Cost Control &amp; Budget Support<ul><li>Support Project Managers with buyout strategies and cost-saving opportunities.</li><li>Track material pricing trends and market conditions.</li><li>Identify value engineering, substitution, and cost reduction opportunities while maintaining project specifications and performance requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with Project Managers during project buyout by coordinating major material and subcontract packages in alignment with established budgets and negotiated vendor agreements.</li><li>Track and communicate realized savings and cost avoidance.</li></ul>
Project Support<ul><li>Coordinate with vendors and project teams on delivery planning for major material packages, escalating schedule risks as needed.</li><li>Support resolution of material shortages, delays, or quality issues by coordinating with vendors, project teams, and purchasing leadership.</li><li>Support verification that procured materials align with project specifications and purchasing requirements, in coordination with project teams.</li><li>Operationalize material standardization initiatives where appropriate to improve pricing, availability, and execution consistency.</li></ul>
Contract &amp; Risk Management<ul><li>Coordinate review of vendor and subcontractor terms and compliance requirements in partnership with legal and accounting teams.</li><li>Ensure insurance, compliance documents, and certifications are current.</li><li>Identify and communicate supply chain risks, supporting contingency planning in coordination with project teams and leadership.</li></ul>
Process Improvement &amp; Reporting<ul><li>Assist in developing standardized purchasing workflows and best practices.</li><li>Support visibility into purchasing activity, vendor performance, and cost trends through regular reporting and on-demand analysis as needed.</li><li>Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting metrics.</li><li>Support implementation and improvement of ERP and procurement tools.</li></ul>

Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in construction management, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred; relevant construction purchasing experience will be strongly considered in lieu of a degree.</li><li>5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a construction environment, including materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.</li><li>Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced construction setting.</li><li>Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective vendor relationships.</li><li>Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.</li><li>Financial and cost analysis skills, including buyout support and cost tracking.</li><li>Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools (BuildOps experience a plus), as well as Microsoft Office.</li><li>Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across estimating, project management, field operations, and accounting teams.</li><li>Experience with large commercial, industrial, or mechanical/electrical construction projects.</li></ul>
