US Foot and Ankle Specialists

<div>The Medical Assistant provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctors, and the patients in a fast-paced doctor&rsquo;s office. This person will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks focused around assisting the Physician in all minor in office procedures. 


Medical Assistant Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
<ul>
<li>Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures</li>
<li>Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR</li>
<li>Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting)</li>
<li>Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education</li>
<li>Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed</li></ul>

<li>Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service</li>
<li>Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies</li>
<li>Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance</li>
</ul>
Medical Assistant Required Skills and Experience:
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or GED required</li>
<li>Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience</li>
<li>CMA or RMA certification preferred</li>
<li>Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)</li>
<li>Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills</li>
<li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment</li>
<li>Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused</li>
<li>Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed</li>
<li>Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)</li>
