Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper our small work from home office. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain accurate accounting for real estate transactions and track ongoing repairs of properties. Your expertise will help streamline our bookkeeping processes, facilitate precise financial reporting, and contribute to the smooth operation of our accounting functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in a collaborative environment dedicated to integrity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.Position will start with approximately 5 hours weekly and can grow from there.Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks.</li><li>Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations regularly to verify accuracy of financial data.</li><li>Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, including invoice processing and payment tracking.</li><li>Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.</li><li>Write clear financial reports, summaries, and documentation for internal use or external audits.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.</li><li>Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including GAAP and governmental accounting standards.</li><li>Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus.</li><li>Familiarity with technical accounting concepts like double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, and journal entries.</li><li>Experience in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing.</li><li>Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting accurately.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10-key typing is preferred.</li><li>Strong analytical skills for account analysis and financial concept comprehension.</li><li>Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaboration across teams.
