UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region&rsquo;s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.</li></ul>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Performs diagnostic, interventional, and/or therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination/treatment by complying with established policies and procedures.</li><li>
Organizes and documents all aspects of assigned patient care in coordination with radiologists, nursing personnel, and other areas of the department to ensure accurate and timely performance of radiology procedures.</li><li>
Participates in performance improvement activities by participating in the collection of data for performance improvement activities to ensure quality is consistent with established standards.</li></ul>
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent</li><li>
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology school</li><li>
Registered by the ARRT or registry eligible</li><li>
Licensed with the Texas department of Health according to regulations</li></ul></div>

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:</b></div></div><div></div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Work under limited supervision of nursing and medical staff and with full proficiency to perform all duties, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.</li><li>
Observe patients&rsquo; progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.</li><li>
Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.</li><li>
Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.</li><li>
Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.</li><li>
Assist in providing treatments to patients, perform technical procedures such as feeding tube and catheter administration, suture/staple removal, splinting of extremities, and perform ECGs as ordered.</li><li>
Coordinate daily activities for assigned unit to include general clerical and administrative support and participates in performance improvement activities to enhance and maintain personal and department qualifications and standards of performance.</li></ul>
Qualifications:

Job Requirements:
</div><ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent required.</li><li>
Completion of approved CNA or PCT certification or may be in senior year of nursing school with less than one semester to complete the nursing program.<ul><li>
For Emergency room departments &ndash; completion of an approved EMT Basic certification may be substituted for CNA/PCT certification. Paramedic license may fulfill all certification requirement.</li></ul></li><li>
Must maintain active certification within the State of Texas.</li><li>
Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).</li><li><div>
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.</div></li></ul><div>
Preferred Job Requirements:</div><ul><li>
5 years' experience in acute or long-term care.</li><li>
Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.</li></ul></div>
