<br><div><p>Under direct supervision, responsible for general clinical duties such as taking vital signs, giving injections, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site. May perform some administrative duties and support the documentation of patient records as dictated by the physician or provider.
</p><p>Serves as a patient&rsquo;s companion for medical appointments and hospital procedures. Hold a valid Texas Driver&rsquo;s License.</p></div>

<br><div><ul><li>Calls patient to triage area to take vital signs, completes screenings and documents in EMR/chart.
</li><li>Maintains patient flow in and out of exam room, prepares patients as needed for examination to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
</li><li>Administers medications as ordered.
</li><li>Collects and processes laboratory specimens as ordered.
</li><li>Cleans and prepares examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
</li><li>Assists in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
</li><li>Performs Point of Care Testing (POCT), documents and reports clinical findings to Registered Nurse (RN) in charge and/or Provider.
</li><li>Performs all other duties as assigned.</li></ul></div>

 </p></div><div><p>The position provides opportunities to work with Investigators conducting research on dementia as part of the NIA-funded South Texas Alzheimer&rsquo;s Disease Research Center. The candidate will work closely with investigators to coordinate activities for assigned clinical trials. Responsibilities include participant recruitment, obtaining informed consent, administering cognitive assessments, maintaining GCP-compliant documentation, processing and shipping biological specimens, data entry, protocol implementation, and quality control review.
</p></div><div><p>This role requires regular communication with the Principal Investigator, clinical teams, study sponsors, and UT Health departments to ensure efficient and compliant study conduct. This position will be heavily embedded in our new Center for Brain Health as a liaison between research and clinical care.
