About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our team on a contractual basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend solutions that power our web applications. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to deliver high-quality, efficient, and secure software solutions that meet our clients&rsquo; needs.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Develop, maintain, and optimize backend web applications.</li><li>Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices using Java.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance and user experience.</li><li>Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following test-driven development (TDD) practices.</li><li>Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues to maintain performance and reliability.</li><li>Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.</li><li>Participate in Agile development processes, including story refinement and sprint planning.</li><li>Break down complex tasks into manageable sub-tasks with accurate time estimates.</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Experience<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).</li><li>Minimum 5 years of relevant backend development experience.</li><li>Strong proficiency in Java and backend development frameworks.</li><li>Experience developing headless APIs and working with RESTful API architecture.</li><li>Hands-on experience with microservices and web security principles.</li><li>Proficiency in JUnit for unit testing.</li><li>Experience with Oracle SQL database systems.</li><li>Familiarity with Apache Tomcat server environments.</li><li>Strong understanding of Git version control systems.</li><li>Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.</li></ul>Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required)<ul><li>Experience with Groovy programming language.</li><li>Experience with OpenSearch.</li><li>Ability to configure Apache Tomcat.</li><li>Proficiency with Ansible for automation.</li><li>Familiarity with Nginx web server.</li></ul>Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Must be a US Citizen or Green card holder.</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Taylor, TX 76574
