A Brief Summary of This Position:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the D-Pole Welder must be certified in GMAW welding and must perform fit-up tasks. Welder must be well versed in the use of personal computers.
Nights 1st Shift Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3PM*
*As needed, there will be work hours required outside the Standard Shift Schedule (above)
Starting Hourly Pay Rate (LG6): $24.47 + $1.00 per hour shift differential**
**Shift differential is paid when the hours worked are on an eligible shift
Opportunity for step pay increases at 90 days, 1 year and 2 years
Eligible for annual discretionary bonus
Essential Functions:
<ul><li>Uses GMAW process to tack weld various small components to round shafts to make a pole assembly for structural welds. The pole assembly generally consists of round shaft, butt plate, and/or other small parts
</li><li>Manually position shaft for assembly. Uses crane for lifting various components. Frequently pushes, lifts, and pulls up to 50 pounds
</li><li>Reads and interprets drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly. Locate and gather parts needed for assembly, from parts staging area that is staged by the Storeroom personnel
</li><li>Read and interpret drawings to ensure proper location of various small part attachments
</li><li>Uses plasma torch to cut steel. Utilizes jigs made at Valmont for cutting holes in shafts. Wears protective goggles or hood to protect eyes from harmful rays
</li><li>Uses measuring tape, levels, squares, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals, and decimals to fractions
</li><li>Works in confined areas at various locations of the pole assembly line as necessary to accurately measure and assemble components described above. Moves under, around, and over poles as necessary, to get into proper position to assemble pole assembly
</li><li>Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble product
</li><li>Other duties as assigned
</li></ul>Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
<ul><li>Must be able to read and write English
</li><li>Ability to use common manufacturing math
</li><li>6 Months of previous experience welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, and/or have graduated from an acceptable Technical Training Program focused in welding
</li><li>Must pass GMAW rotational weld test and maintain certification
</li><li>Ability to produce good welds.
</li><li>Ability to read &amp; interpret drawings, showing locations of holes &amp; orientations.
</li><li>Knowledge of safe working practices to prevent self-inflicting injuries &amp; to prevent causing injuries to co-workers.
</li><li>Follow all Valmont safety guidelines, rules, and regulations with a practical working knowledge of PPE and LOTO.

<ul><li>1 year previous experience welding in an assembly environment
</li><li>1 year previous experience welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment

Incumbent will also be exposed to production facilities where specific PPE will be required such as hand, hearing, foot, eye, and head protection. Being outside will also expose them to material handling equipment such as forklifts, straddle trucks, and shag trucks.

A Brief Summary of This Position:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting of plant equipment and facility systems. This role helps ensure equipment reliability, safe operations, and minimal production downtime through preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair activities involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Essential Functions:
<ul><li>Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
</li><li>Diagnose, test, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble production equipment and components.
</li><li>Troubleshoot and service pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

A Brief Summary of This Position
The Group Lead is responsible for leading daily production activities and supporting production personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
