As a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients with diseases and injuries seeking treatment in the clinic, as directed by physician or mid-level provider. You will collaborate with the core PACT Team (Primary Care Provider, RN and Medical Assistant) and expanded PACT Team including family/caregiver, VA, and community-based services involved in developing the patient care plan.
Core Responsibilities<ul><li>
Actively diagnoses and treats our veterans under the direction and responsibility of a supervising physician.</li><li>
Examines patient for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders.</li><li>
Develops and implements patient management plans and assists in provision of continuity of care.</li><li>
Orders and performs diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, laboratory tests, etc. and interprets test results for deviations from normal and provides patient notification and follow up care.</li><li>
Counsel patients on the use of prescription medications, educates patients, assesses mental health issues, and provides routine health maintenance.</li><li>
Evaluates patients&rsquo; records from medical providers outside the VA and works with these patients utilizing rules set forth by the VA for co-managed care.</li><li>
Completes any and all clinical reminders &ldquo;due&rdquo; at the time of each patient visit.</li><li>
Completes documentation of the medical record within 24 hours of a patient encounter.</li><li>
Complies with all VA guidelines in regard to appropriate and timely response to all patient request, alerts and notifications, consults, orders, lab results, and diagnostic studies.</li><li>
Complies with the VA formulary process and consult protocols.</li><li>
Complies with all VA guidelines in regard to appropriate and timely clinical documentation, including the completion of all encounters by close of business.</li><li>
Complies with all VA and company training requirements.</li><li>
Fulfill compliance requirements of the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Joint Commission(JC), Environment of Care (EOC) oversight, lab compliance, and other related items.</li><li>
Remain focused on achieving excellent clinical outcomes through the specified VA guidelines.</li><li>
Must provide excellent customer service to each veteran, both in person and over the phone, as well as to fellow colleagues and clinic visitors.</li><li>
Participate in the clinic&rsquo;s outreach events to help support the clinic&rsquo;s enrollment initiatives.</li><li>
Support patient enrollment and retention by providing guidance, when necessary, regarding scheduling, follow-up visits or nurse visits.</li><li>
Embrace and support new initiatives, whether clinical or operational.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Qualifications<ul><li>
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and graduate of an accredited program for nurse practitioner (MSN required), including preceptorship</li><li>
Certification by applicable professional organization</li><li>
Minimum one-year clinical experience (three years preferred) as a CRNP within the last 4 years in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting; government healthcare environment preferred. Specific requirements could vary based on individual VA contract.</li><li>
Must be credentialed and remain in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).</li><li>
Must comply with and maintain all requirements for a valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment, or in any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements.</li><li>
Current certification in Basic Life Support (must be renewed periodically as specified by the certifying agency &ndash; AHA valid for two years, e.g.) and in ACLS as specified by individual VAMC contract</li><li>
Current, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration</li><li>
Proficiency in written and spoken English.</li><li>
Strong computer skills</li><li>
Energetic and optimistic demeanor</li><li>
Strong service mentality and a focus on achieving all aspects of defined service standards</li><li>

 Position Summary
 
 
 
 The Clinic Manager will serve as the on-site management authority and primary government point of contact for all Health Unit operations at the FLETC Training Delivery Point (TDP). This position oversees a full Health Unit and Triage building, manages RNs, LPNs, MAs, and the contractor-provided Athletic Trainer(s).

 Serve as Contractor POC with FLETC Government at the Artesia, NM training delivery point
 </li>

 Manage all health unit staff (RNs, LPNs, MAs, Athletic Trainers) and daily operations at the Artesia site
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure proper staffing for peak hours, simultaneous emergency response capability, and all training day requirements
 </li>
 <li>
 Submit designation letter with contact numbers and area of responsibility to CO and COR at or before pre-performance conference
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee Medical Surveillance Program (MSP) for FLETC staff and detailees at Artesia
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure CLIA waiver compliance for all point-of-care testing at Artesia (New Mexico Health Care Authority requirement)
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage the health unit formulary, medication inventory, and supply chain at Artesia
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure accurate and timely OSHA recordkeeping (OSHA 300, 300A, 301)
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure Athletic Trainer(s) maintain valid New Mexico licensure and operate under physician supervision
 </li>

 Ensure all documentation and EMR entries are completed in the SASS system in SOAP note format

 Qualifications:

 Must have a board certification and licensure of Physician?s Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Registered Nurse (RN) with the appropriate credentials and licenses.

 Must have a current, full, active, and unencumbered professional license in the State of New Mexico or South Carolina (RN at minimum)
 </li>
 <li>
 Must have a minimum of a Bachelor?s degree from an accredited university.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum five (5) years of professional nursing experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficiency in English, Microsoft Office, and Government EMR (SASS).

 Proficient in oral and written communication in English.

 Able to use a computer to communicate via email and retrieve reports and provide reports to the Contracting Officer/COR.
