Position Summary
The Purchasing Assistant supports daily purchasing operations by processing orders, maintaining accurate product and vendor data, and assisting with vendor communication. This is an entry-level role working under direct supervision, handling routine tasks while escalating more complex issues. Ideal for someone looking to build a career in purchasing or supply chain.
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Process purchase requisitions and prepare purchase orders
</li><li>Follow up on orders to ensure timely delivery
</li><li>Communicate with vendors for pricing, quotes, and product details
</li><li>Maintain accurate product, pricing, and inventory data
</li><li>Assist with cost comparisons and product research
</li><li>Support vendor management, including samples and documentation
</li><li>Help process Return Goods Authorizations (RGAs) and maintain records
</li><li>Provide administrative support to Purchasing and Operations teams
</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>
High school diploma required; 0&ndash;2 years of experience preferred
</li><li>Strong Excel, Outlook, and data entry skills (SAP a plus)
</li><li>Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills
</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple teams
</li><li>Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn</li></ul>
