 About The Role
 
 
 
 The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to Production, assisting customers with DFM, launching new products into production, and identifying/implementing process improvements within the Wheeling, IL facility. Markets served are primarily medical device (with a focus on robotic surgery), therefore experience within an ISO13485 facility is desirable. Manufacturing processes include Swiss CNC, high-speed 5-axis, vertical milling, assembly, packaging, passivation, and cleaning
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 Production Support
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Support Production with machine setups, trouble shooting, operator training and other functions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify, implement, and document process improvements including cycle time, tool life, process capability, and automation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Selecting, qualifying, and launching new equipment in the factory.
 </li>
 <li>
 Support production with part updates, machine layouts and programs, as well as other functions.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Customer Interface &amp; Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Collaborate with customers to identify and suggest modifications to customer specifications to improve cost, quality, and/or lead time
 </li>
 <li>
 Communicate design changes and updates to the relevant internal teams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, working closely with manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Requirements
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 3+ years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to read and understand part prints.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to design processes, operate, and set up CNC Machines (Swiss, Vertical Milling, 5-axis)
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to generate drawings with CAD software, Solidworks is a plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to use CAD/CAM software; Gibbs Cam or Esprit a plus
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Driven attitude for problem solving and continuous improvement.
 </li>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in mechanical engineering or related field is desired. However, experience as an Engineer in a machining environment may be substituted for a degree.
 
 
 </li>

 Physical Requirements

 <li>
 Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to traverse manufacturing facility
 </li>
