Position

HVAC Helper (non-exempt)

 Primary Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs HVAC systems. Work may include servicing, troubleshooting and repairing heating and cooling equipment utilized in commercial buildings (i.e., boilers, chillers, split systems, package units, VRF, VAV, and exhaust systems, controls). Field helpers will assist mechanics, supporting systems used for heating, air conditioning, or other purposes.

Essential Functions
<ul>
<li>Assist with diagnosis and repair of products and equipment related to HVAC commercial systems and ensuring customer satisfaction</li>
<li>Assist with performing preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers</li>
<li>Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files utilizing company software on tablet</li>
<li>Keeps all current manufacturers' products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair</li>
<li>Provides technical support to customers</li>
<li>Troubleshoot HVAC issues and identify solutions.</li>
<li>Use hand tools, power tools, and other specialized equipment to complete tasks.</li>
<li>Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and other technical documents.</li>

 Requirements

This position is classified Full-Time(non-exempt) with some overtime expected. Basic qualifications for this position include:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED equivalent; at least 18 years of age</li>
<li>Current valid driver&rsquo;s license and dependable transportation</li>
<li>Perform basic mathematical operations rapidly and quickly</li>
<li>Provide and properly use basic hand tools as required for tasks
</li></ul>Successful candidates will also:
<ul><li>Be reliable and dependable</li>
<li>Show up engaged to complete work and tasks as expected with an attitude of excellence</li>
<li>Be flexible, some long days or night shift work may be required</li>
<li>Bi-lingual a plus</li>
</ul>
Preferred candidates will:
<ul><li>Have prior work experience in mechanical construction or industrial role; in HVAC or related field</li>
<li>Some proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings</li>
</ul>

Physical Demands Classification

Medium &ndash; Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects; Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds; Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time; Visually see (naturally or with correction); Work at heights climbing and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds and manlifts.
