 Position Purpose
 
 
 
 The manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, improving, and integrating manufacturing systems, equipment, and processes to support production efficiency, product quality, and cost reduction. This role works cross-functionally to support New Product Introduction, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure manufacturability of new designs and processes.
 
 
 
 Essential Duties And Responsibilities
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Study, analyze and design methods, procedures, processes, layouts, fixtures and tooling to support process efficiency and product quality.
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify and recommend resolutions for existing or imminent manufacturing problems, equipment failures, or safety issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Recommend cost reduction initiatives and manufacturing process improvements.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in the review and evaluation of product design changes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate with support groups to ensure manufacturability; process capabilities and capacities are developed to support new products.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop, monitor and report on project schedules and establish Standard Operating Procedures for new and updated manufacturing equipment and systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with quality, production, and engineering teams to troubleshoot production and equipment issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop manufacturing instructions or procedures and train assemblers and operators in machine operations, processes or assembly applications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responsible for following all Vaupell policies and standard operating procedures and safety practices.
 </li>
 <li>
 Participate in company-sponsored training to develop proficiency in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including programming, troubleshooting, and integration of PLCs in manufacturing equipment and processes.
 </li>
 <li>
 Other duties as assigned.

 </ul>
 
 
 Job Qualifications/Requirements
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor's degree in engineering + 2 years of directly related manufacturing engineering experience or related technical discipline.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, materials, equipment, and quality systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Requires knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
 </li>
 <li>
 Complete PLC training and demonstrate competency in PLC programming and troubleshooting as part of ongoing professional development.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools required.
 </li>
 <li>
 CAD proficiency/design background is a plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 Requires regular work within the manufacturing environment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment.
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Candidates must be a &ldquo;US Person&rdquo; (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
 
 
 
 Environmental Condition
 
 
 
 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
