Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will support the organization&rsquo;s financial operations by managing a variety of accounting functions with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will help ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and smooth day-to-day financial processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a collaborative and growth-focused environment.Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday.</li><li>Reconcile accounts on the general ledger, including balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.</li><li>Process payroll using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro while ensuring compliance with payroll management standards.</li><li>Assist with journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and account analysis to support month-end and year-end closing activities.</li><li>Support compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.</li><li>Conduct account reconciliation to verify accuracy of financial data and resolve discrepancies promptly.</li><li>Help prepare financial reports and assist in budgeting, tax preparation, and audit processes for governmental or non-profit organizations.</li><li>Manage data entry tasks related to billing, invoicing, and processing payments efficiently.</li><li>Collaborate on financial concepts such as credit analysis, financial acumen development, and general ledger accounting to enhance departmental understanding.</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting environments with familiarity in public accounting practices preferred.</li><li>Hands-on experience with various financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, Xero or similar platforms.</li><li>Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP and technical accounting standards.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, and journal entries accurately.</li><li>Experience working with payroll systems like ADP or Paychex is highly desirable.</li><li>Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal controls is a plus.</li><li>Excellent math skills combined with attention to detail for precise data entry and account analysis.
