 Role Overview:
 
 
 
 
 The Deputy Manager &ndash; Design &amp; Automation will be responsible for designing, standardizing, and automating operational processes across fruit marketplaces and mandis. This role combines layout &amp; process design, automation system development, and on-ground execution to drive efficiency, quality, safety, and scalability across operations.
 
 
 Work Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka (

 )
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities:
 
 
 
 
 
 1. Layout Design &amp; Operational Planning:
 
 
 
 &bull;Design efficient 2D layouts for mandi operations, centralized unloading stations, and sorting/grading lines.
 
 
 &bull;Plan resource deployment based on volume flows and throughput targets.
 
 
 &bull;Optimize material movement to reduce handling time and operational costs.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 2.
 
 
 Process Design, SOPs &amp; Blueprinting:
 
 
 
 &bull;Create, document, and update SOPs and process blueprints for key operational activities.
 
 
 &bull;Standardize processes across locations with scalable systems and feedback loops.
 
 
 &bull;Collaborate with operations and tech teams to ensure process clarity and integrity.
 
 
 &bull;Optimize processes to ensure consistent quality of produce.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 3.
 
 
 Automation System Design &amp; Development:
 
 
 
 &bull;Design, develop, and implement automated machinery and control systems for fruit marketplaces.
 
 
 &bull;Prepare system specifications, design documents, and process flow diagrams for automation projects.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 4. Programming, Integration &amp; Testing:
 
 
 
 &bull;Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and control systems.
 
 
 &bull;Integrate automation systems with existing infrastructure for optimal performance.
 
 
 &bull;Conduct testing, validation, and commissioning of automation systems.
 
 
 &bull;Troubleshoot and resolve machinery and automation-related issues.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 5. Maintenance &amp; Technical Support:
 
 
 
 &bull;Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of automation systems.
 
 
 &bull;Provide remote and on-site technical support for machine-related issues.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 6. Documentation &amp; Compliance:
 
 
 
 &bull;Maintain detailed documentation including system diagrams, manuals, and maintenance records.
 
 
 &bull;Document system changes, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 7. Continuous Improvement:
 
 
 
 &bull;Analyze existing automation processes to identify efficiency and performance improvements.
 
 
 &bull;Implement enhancements to reduce downtime and improve system reliability.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 8. Collaboration &amp; Stakeholder Communication:
 
 
 
 &bull;Work closely with business, operations, and project teams to deliver effective automation solutions.
 
 
 &bull;Communicate technical updates, risks, and progress to stakeholders.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 9. Safety &amp; Compliance:
 
 
 
 &bull;Ensure automation systems comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
 
 
 &bull;Implement and monitor safety protocols to minimize operational risks.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Qualifications &amp; Experience:
 
 
 
 Education
 
 
 &bull;Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Automation Engineering, or
 
 
 &bull;Diploma in Mechatronics / Electrical &amp; Electronics Engineering
 
 
 
 
 
 Experience
 
 
 &bull;5- 8+ years of relevant experience in machine automation and control systems
 
 
 &bull;Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation projects
