About This Role: 
Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Director of Proposals and Contracts. You will be part of a team working to improve lives globally through medical technology innovation. The Director of Proposals and Contracts leads a team of proposals and contracts professionals, driving the proposal process to ensure high-quality, competitive submissions that support the organization’s success in securing new business. Oversees the creation, negotiation, and compliance of contracts, ensuring alignment with legal standards and organizational goals. Acts as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
 
What You Will Do: 
<ul>
<li>Own and drive proposal strategy and operations, ensuring alignment with business development and growth objectives.</li>
<li>Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of high-value proposals, ensuring timeliness, compliance, competitiveness, and quality.</li>
<li>Collaborate with executive leadership and business development to influence bid strategy and pursuit planning.</li>
<li>Track and report on proposal performance (e.g., win rates, turnaround times, volume), providing executive-level insights.</li>
<li>Lead continuous improvement by developing and implementing standardized proposal processes, tools, and templates.</li>
<li>Incorporate client feedback, lessons learned, and debrief outcomes into future proposals, templates, and processes to improve Veranex’s probability of winning future business pursuits.</li>
<li>Facilitate and lead critical review cycles and executive signoffs.</li>
<li>Support strategic initiatives such as partner proposal development, M&A support, and proposal innovation.</li>
</ul>
Contracts Management
 <ul>
<li>Manage the entire lifecycle of contracts, from gathering requirements and drafting to negotiation and execution.</li>
<li>Ensure contracts comply with organizational policies, audit standards, legal guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Ensures contracts align with the organization’s strategic goals and support business growth and sustainability.</li>
<li>Identify and mitigate risks associated with contracts, including financial, operational, and legal risks.</li>
<li>Maintain organized records of all contracts and track key dates and obligations.</li>
<li>Monitor contract performance to ensure all parties fulfill their obligations.</li>
<li>Generate reports on contract status, performance metrics, and compliance.</li>
<li>Lead continuous improvement by developing and implementing standardized contracts processes, tools, and templates.</li>
<li>Provide strategic guidance during high-stakes negotiations, M&A activity, or compliance audits.</li>
<li>Standardize templates, fallback positions, and approval workflows across functions.</li>
<li>Monitor key contractual risks, obligations, renewals, and liabilities.</li>
<li>Provide contract data and insights to leadership through dashboards and reports.</li>
</ul>
Leadership & Team Management
 <ul>
<li>Achieve team results by communicating job expectations, setting performance goals and KPIs, and providing leadership, training, and guidance.</li>
<li>Oversee team structure, staffing plans, performance management, training, and career development.</li>
<li>Develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.</li>
<li>Participate with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives.</li>
<li>Make final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensure effective achievement of objectives.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:Required skills: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Affairs, Finance, or related discipline.</li>
<li>8+ years of relevant work experience</li>
<li>Strong strategic thinking and planning skills for developing winning proposals and aligning contracting outcomes with business goals.</li>
<li>Deep understanding of RFP/RFI/RFQ compliance, proposal structuring, and strategic messaging.</li>
<li>Familiarity with capture management, sales pipelines, and project management platforms.</li>
<li>Proficiency in proposal management software, contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools, and productivity applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).</li>
<li>Advanced project management skills for complex, multi-phase projects.</li>
<li>Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of people management policies and procedures, including hiring, performance management, mentoring and coaching, feedback and recognition, corrective action, and compensation administration.</li>
<li>Strong leadership skills, including change management, stakeholder management, and negotiation.</li>
<li>Advanced writing and editing skills for technical, executive, or compliance-heavy content.</li>
<li>Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate complex business concepts clearly and concisely.</li>
<li>Strong ability to structure a scalable team to promote quality deliverables.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of commercial and legal contract terms, negotiation tactics, and risk assessment.</li>
