<div>We are seeking a Senior Cloud &amp; Infrastructure Automation Engineer with deep expertise in Terraform, Microsoft Azure, and Databricks to design, automate, and evolve cloud infrastructure and data platforms. This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, identity-driven provisioning, and data integration, and requires both hands-on execution and the ability to influence better technical approaches across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong engineering fundamentals, modern automation practices, and the flexibility to help shape how infrastructure and data platforms are provisioned, integrated, and delivered at scale. 
 
This is a contract opportunity with one of Verinext's clients. Candidates must be comfortable working West Coast hours.
Requirements
Azure Cloud Engineering<ul>
<li>
Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade Azure infrastructure and services</li>
<li>Implement and optimize Azure networking, security, identity, and governance components</li>
<li>Partner with architecture and platform teams to improve cloud design patterns and operational models</li>
</ul>
Infrastructure as Code &amp; Automation (Terraform)<ul>
<li>
Design and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for repeatable, scalable deployments</li>
<li>Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent) to automate infrastructure provisioning and changes</li>
<li>Introduce and evaluate alternative automation approaches to improve speed, reliability, and maintainability</li>
</ul>
Data Platform Integration (Databricks)<ul>
<li>
Support provisioning and integration of Databricks environments within Azure</li>
<li>Enable secure and reliable data movement in and out of Databricks</li>
<li>Collaborate with data engineering teams to align infrastructure automation with analytics and data platform needs</li></ul> 
Additional Responsibilities<ul>
<li>
Support cloud provisioning workflows integrated with SailPoint, enabling identity-driven access and automation</li>
<li>Track and report delivery progress and project work using Jira
</li><li>Participate in agile ceremonies, technical design reviews, and cross-team planning</li>
<li>Document infrastructure standards, automation workflows, and best practices</li></ul> 
Required Skills &amp; Experience<ul>
<li>
Senior-level experience with Terraform in production Azure environments</li>
<li>Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including compute, networking, security, and identity</li>
<li>Experience supporting or integrating Databricks within Azure-based platforms</li>
<li>Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and platform deployments</li>
<li>Experience working with Jira for project tracking and delivery reporting</li>
<li>Ability to think beyond standard implementations and propose improved or alternative technical solutions</li></ul> 
Nice-to-Have Skills<ul>
<li>
Experience with SailPoint identity provisioning and access workflows</li>
<li>Experience with Boomi for integration and data orchestration</li>
<li>Exposure to JD Edwards (JDEdwards) environments or ERP integrations</li>
<li>Familiarity with DevSecOps and cloud security automation practices</li></ul>
