POSITION SUMMARY 
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies, programs, and procedures across all field and construction operations within the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) environment. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), and works closely with internal teams and contractors to foster a culture of safety and accountability. The Safety Manager conducts audits, leads training initiatives, investigates incidents, and proactively identifies risks to ensure the well-being of all employees, subcontractors, and the public. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Develop and manage a comprehensive safety program tailored to FTTH construction and operations, including field, warehouse, and office environments.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety laws and standards (OSHA, DOT, local/state regulations).</li><li>
Conduct regular job site audits, hazard assessments, and safety inspections.</li><li>
Lead root cause analysis and incident investigations; implement corrective actions and track closure.</li><li>
Oversee and deliver safety training for employees and contractors (e.g., PPE, confined space, fall protection, traffic control).</li><li>
Collaborate with field supervisors, construction managers, and project leads to promote safety best practices.</li><li>
Maintain and analyze safety records, reports, and metrics to track trends and support continuous improvement.</li><li>
Manage safety documentation, including SDS records, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety data collection.</li><li>
Support the onboarding of new hires and vendors with appropriate safety orientation and compliance tracking.</li><li>
Lead safety committee meetings and drive safety culture initiatives across the organization.</li><li>
Respond to emergencies or incidents and coordinate with appropriate agencies when needed.</li><li>
Create reporting for KPI reviews across key areas, such as: Incident Rate (TRIR) and Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR), Safety Audit Compliance Rate, Training Completion &amp; Compliance Metrics, Near-Miss Reporting and Resolution Rate, Corrective Action Closure Rate, Overall Safety Culture Engagement Scores</li></ul>

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
5+ years of experience in safety management, preferably in telecommunications, utilities, or construction industries.</li><li>
In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and best practices related to construction safety.</li><li>
Experience conducting field audits, incident investigations, and training sessions.</li><li>
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and lead in a cross-functional environment.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software/tools.</li><li>
Willingness to travel to project sites across the Company&rsquo;s active states on a regular basis.</li></ul> 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health &amp; Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field.</li><li>
Professional safety certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or OSHA 30-Hour certification).</li><li>
Experience with FTTH construction or aerial/underground telecom deployments.</li><li>
Knowledge of DOT, traffic control, and utility marking (811/One Call) procedures.</li><li>
Understanding of or ability to speak Spanish.</li></ul> 

JOB DETAILS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>
This role requires extensive travel with the ability to travel to various locations to perform job duties. Travel schedules may be predictable or variable depending on the needs of the project and may take short trips, longer trips, or extended stays depending on the needs of the project. A company vehicle is provided.</li></ul><ul><li>

This position is Remote but will need to travel to project sites.</li><li>
The schedule for this position is variable and may require night or weekend availability as needed to fulfill the core duties of the role.</li><li>

</li><li>This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and climb on uneven surfaces and ladders for extended periods of time.</li><li>
This position requires the ability to wear personal protective equipment, such as hard hats, safety glasses and steel-toed boots.

COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS<ul><li>
Base pay is paid at a salary rate. The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000 depending on experience.</li><li>
This position may be eligible for an annual 5% bonus in accordance with the Company&rsquo;s bonus policy.</li><li>
