Position Summary:

Under direct supervision by department leadership, performs phlebotomy collection of whole blood and apheresis products. Delivers an excellent donor experience through warm, professional, and service-oriented interactions. Takes pride in and is committed to delivering high quality services. Works cooperatively and is a supportive member of the team/group. Contributes positively to the achievement of team objectives. In addition to these responsibilities, the Specialist, Donor plays an essential role in promoting and maintaining a collaborative and respectful team culture and contributes to a strong and engaging employee experience. The individual models teamwork, effective communication, and professionalism and fosters an environment where donors and colleagues feel safe, valued, and respected.</div><div></div><p><b><br>
Must be available to support Winfield Center* hours:</b></p><ul><li>
Monday: 11am-7:30pm</li><li>
Tuesday-Thursday: 7:30am-7:30pm</li><li>
Friday: 7:30am-3:30pm</li><li>
Saturday &amp; Sunday: 6:30am-3pm</li><li><b><i>With availability to cover area centers as needed</i></b></li></ul>

The target salary for this position is $17.36 per hour.</div><ul><li>
8 weeks paid training</li><li>
Shift differentials for evenings/weekends</li><li><ul><li>
Evenings (after 6:00pm): $1.50/hour</li><li>
Weekends: $2.00/hour</li></ul></li><li>
Skill based % increases offered for advanced phlebotomy skills training</li><li>
Additional Bilingual (Spanish) increase available after passing certification exam</li></ul><div>
The target salary is based on internal averages. Versiti sets salary ranges aligned to local markets in which the job is performed. Compensation decisions take into account internal salary averages and differentiation based on education, experience, skills, and performance. Specific salary and benefits information is shared at the time of the phone screening based on your location and qualifications.<br>

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Performs donor screening (collects donor histories), mini-physical, and phlebotomy.</li><li>
Treats donors with customer service excellence, presenting a positive image. Responds to customer inquiries, requests and complaints with a timely and complete response and escalates to leader when appropriate. Provides a service-centric donor experience by interacting with donors respectfully, compassionately, and professionally.</li><li>
May conduct automation (Alyx and/or Trima), including recognizing and responding to automation reactions. Recruits and converts donors for automation.</li><li>
Contributes to and upholds a positive team culture and employee experience by fostering teamwork, collaborating effectively, maintaining an encouraging environment, and by supporting coworkers through kind and respectful behaviors.</li><li>
Maintains product integrity and ensures proper identification of all donors, performs routine maintenance on equipment, and completes department records as needed.</li><li>
Observes donors for reactions, provides reaction care and assists other staff in handling reactions if needed.</li><li>
Rebooks donors for future donation appointments.</li><li>
May be subject to additional background checks as required by sponsor if asked to assist a mobile</li><li>
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification</li><li>
Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements</li><li>
Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures</li></ul>
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required</li></ul><div><b>
Experience</b></div><ul><li>
Less than 1 year job-related experience. preferred</li><li>
1-3 years relevant people facing experience preferred</li></ul><div><b>

Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, general facts and information and/or the use of simple equipment, machines and materials. Knowledge is usually acquired through training on the job. required</li><li>
