We are currently seeking a temporary, part time HR Coordinator to join our team at our corporate office in Weatogue, CT.
The HR Coordinator will serve as a support role for the HR department. They often interact with employees and direct them to the appropriate resources to resolve the HR issues. They will also be responsible for administrative assignments such as the creation of onboarding plans, assisting with recruiting efforts, scheduling interviews, and processing employee files.
Essential Functions:<ul><li>
Performing administrative duties, such as creating and maintaining employee files</li><li>
Support team members, aid and assist with all aspects of the hiring process</li><li>
Submitting online job postings, shortlisting candidates and scheduling job interviews</li><li>
Assisting with creating employee onboarding plans</li><li>
Assisting with coordinating onboarding schedule and orientation training sessions for new employees</li><li>
Serving as a point of contact, providing smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries</li><li>
Pre-screening potential applicants regarding their skills, experience and education</li><li>
Initiating preemployment background checks for applicants</li><li>
Informing applicants about position details, including working conditions, benefits and duties</li><li>
Conducting or helping with new employee orientation</li><li>
Oversee and collect new hire paperwork for personnel files</li><li>
Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned.</li><li>
Other duties and responsibilities as requested.</li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>
Must possess accurate data entry skills and have excellent attention to detail.</li><li>
Possess excellent customer service skills.</li><li>
Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.</li><li>
Excellent communication skills and ability to develop interpersonal relationships with employees at all company levels</li><li>
Strong familiarity with federal, state, and local laws regulating employee relations practices</li><li>
Able to work independently; self-motivated, takes initiative.</li><li>
Able to work effectively as a team player.</li><li>
Able to multitask and prioritize efficiently.</li><li>
Accepts responsibility and accountability.</li></ul>

Requirements:

Required Education &amp; Experience:<ul><li>
Associates degree in related field or HR certification preferred.</li><li>
2 years of experience working in the human resources field</li><li>
Human resource information system (HRIS) knowledge</li><li>
Computer literacy, specifically in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required, experience with SharePoint and OneDrive preferred.</li><li>
Working knowledge of labor laws and practices.</li><li>
Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.</li><li>
Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service across all organizational levels.</li><li>
Ability to handle sensitive employee issues with confidentiality and discretion.</li><li>
Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.</li></ul>
Additional Eligibility Requirements:<ul><li>
Successful completion of a background check and drug screening required.</li><li>
Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required.</li></ul>
