 The Fox Crossing Fire Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Paid-On-Call Firefighter. These positions require the firefighter to respond to calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, when they are available to do so. The average time required to work these positions is 20 hours per month. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
 Respond to alarms according to the Department Standard Operating Guidelines; stretch and connect hose; maneuver nozzles; direct fire streams; raise and climb ladders; use portable fire extinguishers; utilize personal protective clothing, breathing apparatus, and forcible entry tools.Ventilate buildings by opening windows and skylights or by cutting holes in roofs and floors.Perform rescue operations in a team setting.Perform salvage operations by placing salvage covers, controlling water damage and removing debris.Relay instructions, orders and information, know response routes and location of target hazards.Perform related work as required or directed to do so by a department officer.

 Description
 
 
 
 This is an entry level non-sworn position within the Patrol Division responsible for supporting the operational mission of the organization by performing tasks that do not require a sworn police officer. Work is performed under direct supervision of a Patrol Lieutenant, with general oversight by the Police Captain.
 
 
 Examples of Duties
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Perform vehicle patrol within the Village for detection of correctable community issues.
 </li>
 <li>
 Respond to, and resolve, non-emergency police incidents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Investigate lost and found property incidents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct interviews with citizens regarding requests for police service.
 </li>
 <li>
 Issue warning notices and citations for minor violations of Village Code.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare and maintain accurate, timely reports of all activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Direct traffic and assist with crown control at accidents, fire scenes, special events, etc.
 </li>
 <li>
 Respond to and investigate incidents involving animals (capture and impound, investigate animal bites)
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist stalled or stranded motorists.
 </li>
 <li>
 Vehicle lockouts.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist other Village departments with Code Compliance requests.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain knowledge and understanding of department policies and procedures.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain regular punctual attendance, work overtime and extra hours as required.

 Transport documents/equipment in furtherance of department needs.

 Conduct home/property vacation checks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain Community Service vehicle, work area, and required equipment.

 Communicate via two-way radio and mobile data computer equipment.
 </li>
 <li>
 Attend meetings and trainings.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform other duties as assigned by department personnel.

 Minimum Job Requirements
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 High School Diploma or equivalent.
 </li>
 <li>
 Enrollment in a post-high school education program in a field related to Criminal Justice, carrying a minimum of nine (9) credit hours (full-time student status), with a minimum of one-year remaining before graduation.
 </li>
 <li>
 Possess a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to maintain knowledge of department rules, regulations, procedures, and functions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to read and understand street maps and directions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to maintain effective relationships with other employees and the public.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to communicate verbally in a clear, courteous, and tactful manner.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to analyze simple problems and develop appropriate solutions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work safely in and around vehicular traffic.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to lift kennels, bikes, and other property in/out of vehicles.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time;. A
