</b><p>Village of Rantoul is now accepting applications for Firefighters. Our Firefighters will respond to fire alarms fires and other emergency calls.
</p><p><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b></p><b>
</b><p></p><ul><li>Must be at least 21 years of age</li><b>
</b><li>Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent</li><b>
</b><li>Willing to get your Firefighter Operations Basic certification from the State Fire Marshall within three years of employment</li><b>
</b><li>Willing to get your National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification from the Federal Emergency Management Association in ICS 100 and ICS 200 within three years of employment</li><b>
</b><li>Must live within the corporate city limits of the Village of Rantoul</li><b>
</b><li>Written skills test; oral interview and pre-employment background check</li><b>
</b><li>Valid State of Illinois driver&rsquo;s license</li><b>
</b></ul><p><b>REQUIREMENTS</b></p><b>
</b><ul><li>Responds to fire; medical; or other emergencies as required</li><b>
</b><li>Inspects equipment and supplies in order to ensure that all emergencies can be handled</li><b>
</b><li>Restock supplies as needed</li><b>
</b><li>Helps maintain fire truck; ensuring that the fire trucks are clean and pristine condition at all times</li><b>
</b><li>Report any repair that is needed for vehicles and equipment to Fire Chief</li><b>
</b><li>Attend meetings</li><b>
</b><li>Assist with fire prevention and education at a variety of events</li><b>
</b><li>Ventilates burning buildings which might include breaking windows or doors as needed</li><b>
</b><li>Complete and pass all trainings that are required for this position in a timely manor</li><b>
</b><li>Extricates victims</li><b>
</b><li>Assist in keeping the fire house clean at all times</li><b>
</b><li>Be able to operate emergency vehicles and equipment</li><b>
</b><li>Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times</li><b>
</b><li>Complete all necessary paperwork/reports/check list after each response</li><b>
</b><li>Performs all duties related to fire rescue; including connection and carrying fire hoses; carrying and setting up ladders; directing water and chemicals on burning items</li><b>
