Job Duties</b></p>
<p>

As a Probation Officer, you will play a critical role in helping individuals reintegrate successfully into their communities, balancing accountability with opportunity and justice with compassion.<br>

This position directly supports the Department&rsquo;s public safety mission by supervising and monitoring adults placed on probation, parole, or post-release supervision. You will use evidence-based practices, strong communication skills, and professional judgment to promote pro-social behavior and reduce recidivism, enhancing both individual outcomes and community safety.<br>
<br>
Provide day-to-day supervision to adults under regular or intensive probation, parole, or post-release supervision, ensuring compliance with conditions set by the Courts or Parole Board. Assess criminogenic and treatment needs using validated tools; develop individualized supervision and case plans that address risks and build strengths.<br>
Use evidence-based practices, such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral techniques, to encourage positive change and accountability.<br>
Partner with treatment providers, employers, and community organizations to connect individuals with services and resources that support rehabilitation and long-term success.<br>
Conduct home and community visits as appropriate to supervision plans and case needs.<br>
Prepare pre-sentence investigations, sentencing guidelines, and progress reports accurately and on time; testify in court and provide professional sentencing recommendations.<br>
Monitor compliance and take appropriate corrective action, including recommendations for revocation when necessary to protect public safety.<br>

Minimum Qualifications</b></p>
<p>
Casework Management including direct delivery of services. Working knowledge of the criminal justice system, case management that may include Motivational Interviewing and other evidence-based practices. Demonstrated ability in writing reports and working with people in the Criminal Justice system, to interpret and apply policies and procedures, and to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Capable of independent judgement and action. Ability to work with diverse groups of probationers, co-workers and community based.</p>
<p><b>
Additional Considerations</b></p>
<p>
Advanced Knowledge in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Sociology/Social Work, Criminology, Administration of Justice and Public Safety or related field. Experience and skill in Microsoft Office products. Bi-lingual and Multi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply.

Job Duties</b></p>
<p>
Position provides comprehensive case management services by ensuring all relevant classification paperwork is timely, accurate and complete. Ensures inmates are appropriately employed during their incarceration. The position focuses on adult inmate release planning and performing case management/counseling which includes classification. Promotes the development of self and staff through providing training. Acts as a role model by providing guidance/direction for inmates in a correctional facility, which enhances facility security and promotes long-term pro-social behaviors.</p>
<p><b>
Minimum Qualifications</b></p>
<p>
Experience in counseling, rehabilitation, or casework management. Experience facilitating rehabilitative programs. Experience preparing reports. Working knowledge of principles and practices of counseling, of casework and treatment methods, of behavior modification, various intervention techniques and inmate restoration rehabilitation. Demonstrated ability to counsel and interact with inmates to develop, implement, and follow through on treatment plans and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.</p>
<p><b>
Additional Considerations</b></p>
<p>
Advance knowledge in Social Services, Counseling, Criminal Justice or other areas related to human services or equivalent combination of training and experience. Previous experience working in adult counseling or corrections. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel). Certification in a specialized area, such as Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, CSAC, Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider, CSOTP. Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Assist with coordination of new intakes and transfers within CCAP. Conducts regular maintenance of the Referral Unit waitlist database, maintenance of the referral unit&rsquo;s various directories, provide phone coverage. Performs other duties as assigned. This position is responsible for taking prepared drafts of minutes during various meetings.</p>

Experience providing administrative support in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented environment, including reviewing and processing intake or case‑related information using established criteria. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in data entry and database inquiry operations, along with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite&mdash;particularly Excel and Word. Experience coordinating workflows, managing waitlists or tracking systems, and maintaining directories or unit records is required. Candidates must be able to take accurate notes or minutes from prepared drafts during meetings and provide effective phone and customer service support. Strong decision‑making skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities are essential.</p>
