At Virjee Consulting, we&rsquo;ve built a more sustainable model, with average workweeks of about 45 hours during tax season, alternate Fridays off during the summer, and two weeks off in December to spend time with family and recharge.Who This Role Is ForThis role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who enjoys technical review work and takes pride in accuracy, consistency, and quality control.This is not a client-facing advisory role. It is designed for someone who prefers working behind the scenes to ensure tax returns, projections, and estimates are reviewed thoroughly and completed at a high standard.If you enjoy reviewing returns, catching issues before they go out the door, and helping maintain quality across a tax team, this role was designed for you.What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Review and sign off on individual and business tax returns, primarily 1040s and 1120S returns, with some 1065s</li><li>Complete final quality control review of returns prepared by the tax prep team</li><li>Ensure returns are accurate, complete, and consistent with firm standardsIdentify issues, missing information, and areas requiring correction before filing</li><li>Provide clear review notes and feedback to the tax prep teamReview and approve tax projections and quarterly estimates during non-tax season</li><li>Support the team in maintaining efficient turnaround times during busy seasonHelp uphold a high level of quality and consistency across the firm&rsquo;s tax work</li></ul>What Success Looks Like<ul><li>Reviews are completed accurately and efficiently, with most returns taking approximately 30 to 40 minutes</li><li>Returns go out with minimal errors and strong technical consistency</li><li>The tax prep team receives clear, useful feedback that improves overall work quality</li><li>Tax projections and estimates are reviewed carefully and timely during the off-season</li><li>The firm maintains strong quality control throughout tax season and beyond</li></ul>What We&rsquo;re Looking For<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting or related field preferred</li><li>CPA or EA required</li><li>Minimum 5 years of tax experience required</li><li>Minimum 3 years of experience reviewing tax returns required</li><li>Strong experience reviewing 1040 and 1120S tax returns</li><li>Experience reviewing some 1065 returns</li><li>Strong technical tax knowledge related to small businesses and their owners</li><li>Experience working in a small to mid-sized public accounting firm is a plus</li><li>Highly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient</li><li>Able to give clear internal feedback and maintain quality standards</li><li>Comfortable working independently in a non-client-facing role</li></ul>Compensation &amp; BenefitsPay: $95,000.00 - $102,000.00 per year<ul><li>Annual raises tied to responsibility and performance</li><li>Health insurance and 401(k) with match</li><li>Paid time off and company holidays</li><li>Profit-sharing opportunities</li><li>Supportive, family-friendly culture</li><li>Flexible work environment depending on candidate fit</li></ul>Why Virjee ConsultingVirjee Consulting is a fast-growing CPA firm specializing in dental, medical, and other small business clients nationwide.
