VMDO Architects seeks to hire a Marketing Coordinator to support our Marketing Team, within the broader framework of VMDO&rsquo;s K-12, Higher Education, and Civic + Cultural typologies. Our ideal candidate is a seasoned, organized and collaborative marketing professional who will be based in our Charlottesville, VA office.ABOUT US:Located in Charlottesville, VA and Washington, DC, VMDO Architects is a lively, creative, and passionate firm committed to connecting people and place through design. VMDO enjoys success with a diverse team of 80 architects, designers, and support staff providing architectural design for a variety of educational institutions, communities, and municipalities.ABOUT YOU:Sitting at the center of our marketing team, you will support emerging business development pursuits, marketing activity, brand strategy and social media. You'll bring:<ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of professional experience within the Architecture / Engineering industry</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism</li><li>Excellent organizational skills to handle the marketing department&rsquo;s multiple assignments simultaneously</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Writing skills to craft content for marketing, social media, blogging &amp; SEO</li><li>Excellent knowledge of marketing fundamentals</li><li>Good mentoring/teaching abilities and leadership/managerial skills</li><li>A confident, collaborative spirit to engage with and receive constructive criticism from a design studio</li><li>Strong interpersonal and cross-functional relationship skills</li><li>Proficiency in Adobe&rsquo;s Creative Suite, SharePoint, and Outlook are essential to support a collaborative work environment</li><li>Understanding of the DC market a plus</li></ul>WHAT WE'LL PROVIDE:<ul><li>Creative culture with dedicated colleagues that champion community and education focused spaces</li><li>Purposeful and workload (Purposeful directives and defined workload)</li><li>Competitive salary, benefits, and 401K</li><li>Ongoing mentorship and feedback</li><li>Investment in your professional development goals</li><li>Equitable design discourse</li><li>Pro-bono opportunities to give back to our communities</li></ul>WHAT YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE: <ul><li>Organizational leadership of the marketing infrastructure and related staff to maintain up-to-date information and resources</li><li>Management of qualifications, proposals, interview activities</li><li>Oversight and delivery of collateral materials, public relations, corporate identity, special events, direct-mail programs, and market research activities</li><li>Visibility of our firm through all social media platforms with concise, consistent and compelling content / messaging</li><li>Work with architectural staff to develop proposal elements and narratives</li><li>Support for business development efforts with senior leadership and Director of Client Development with research and marketing needs</li><li>Awareness via press releases, magazine articles, direct mail, etc.</li><li>Copywriting for RFP responses, conference abstracts, project descriptions</li><li>Conference coordination for related speaking engagements and awards programs</li></ul>HOW WE'LL COLLABORATE:<ul><li>Reports to VMDO&rsquo;s Marketing leadership</li><li>Strategic interaction and collaboration with VMDO&rsquo;s Director of Client Development</li><li>Effectively oversees the marketing deadlines and various activities</li><li>Coordinates with various external collaborators and consultants</li><li>Management of your own time, with organization and focus on multiple simultaneous deadlines</li><li>Uses software platforms including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat) and MS Office (Word, Excel &amp; PowerPoint), Smartsheet or equivalent</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
