PROJECT DESIGNER I
Overview
Design professional functioning as Design Lead for projects. Responsible for owning the design execution of assigned projects as a
core member of the project leadership team. Fundamental competency in Project Designer job category.
Responsibilities<ul><li>
 Responsible for leading and owning the design execution of small and medium sized projects of limited complexity.</li><li>
 Responsible for actively and regularly partnering with technical and management leaders to execute the project, coordinate resources and integrate inputs from project inception to completion.</li><li>
 Participate as a leading member of the project team in all aspects of project scope - informing the workplan, driving design, complying with jurisdictional requirements, leading and producing content for all phases of design presentation and documentation.</li><li>
 Lead design execution across multiple project phases including programming, conceptual design, schematic design and design development.</li><li>
 Produce design and presentation documents.</li><li>
 Participate in client design presentations.</li><li>
 Collaborate with technical lead and engineers early and often to inform design outcomes.</li><li>
 Accountable for delivering project scope in alignment with fee, schedule and construction cost in collaboration with project manager and project technical lead.</li><li>
 Provide guidance in construction documentation phase to ensure design intent.</li><li>
 Develop planning concepts as applicable to discipline:</li><li>
Interiors: conceptual planning, spacing planning, building restacking</li><li>
Architecture: conceptual planning, site planning</li><li>
 Provide project team coordination for specifications and material selections required for construction.</li><li>
 Provide project team coordination for material location documentation (elevations, finish plans, etc.).</li><li>
 For interior projects, participate in selection of furniture systems and specifications and coordinate design intent with project team members.</li><li>
 Formulate designs that are aesthetically compelling and conducive to intended purposes.</li><li>
 Assist in managing client expectations and consultant coordination.</li></ul>
Capabilities<ul><li>
 Fundamental competency in fulfilling Key Responsibilities for the Project Designer job category.</li><li>
 Specialized strength in design execution, knowledge of the full design process, competent in all conventional aspects of interior design and/or architecture.</li><li>
 Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development.</li><li>
 Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.</li><li>
 Ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, staff.</li><li>
 Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of management and staff.</li><li>
 Excellent organizational skills.</li><li>
 Knowledge of the full design process.</li><li>
 Strong project and people management skills.</li><li>
 Proficiency in REVIT, Enscape, Bluebeam, Newforma, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office and other applicable programs.</li><li>
 Possess BIM modeling skills.</li></ul>
Requirements:
<ul><li> Degree in architecture or interior design from an accredited university.</li><li>
 Design professional with (typically) six plus years of experience in commercial interior design and/or architecture.</li></ul></div>
