No previous direct towing experience is required. We have been training and developing our Roadside Assistance Professionals to drive all kinds of light, medium and heavy-duty trucks for 30 years! By joining Smitty's Towing, you will learn new skills and practices for providing a variety of customer solutions for roadside problems. You will also attend AAA training and seminars on industry best practices and providing excellent customer service to AAA members. However, a background in roadside assistance, or experience loading and unloading a flatbed truck, or tractor-trailer is a plus.RequirementsTo drive with us you:<ul><li>Must be 22 years of age, or older</li><li>Must meet auto insurance requirements</li><li>Must have a valid California Driver License</li><li>Must pass AAA background check</li><li>Must pass law enforcement LiveScan (fingerprint) background check - Records obtained from the DOJ and the FBI</li><li>Must pass pre-employment drug test and random drug testing throughout employment</li><li>Must be flexible with work schedule - We operate 24/7 - 365 days a year</li></ul>Duties and ResponsibilitiesOur ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills to interact with customers and can manage their time well while on the road. Some job duties include but are not limited to:<ul><li>Respond to accidents, break-downs, and other roadside incidents</li><li>Assist disabled motorists with services such as changing their tires</li><li>Stay in contact with motorists when you are enroute</li><li>Tow their vehicle to a nearby garage</li><li>Safely load cars onto the back of your truck</li><li>Keep your truck clean and in good condition</li><li>Pre-Inspect and Post-Inspect Tow Truck</li><li>Tow cars that have a parking or other illegal infractions</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Ability to handle physical workload (kneeling, crawling, lifting, etc.)</li><li>Able to lift 50 lbs. or more</li><li>Physical strength and Stamina</li><li>Common sense and Good Judgment</li><li>Strong Work Ethic and Sound Decision-Making</li><li>Safety-Conscious</li><li>Good Driving Record</li><li>Strong Communication and Time Management skills</li><li>Basic Mechanical skills</li><li>Attention to Detail when documenting work</li></ul>This Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is:<ul><li>Dependable</li><li>Adaptable/flexible</li><li>Detail-oriented</li><li>High stress tolerance</li></ul>CompensationWe offer hourly and incentive pay in a variety of working environments to increase your unlimited earning potential!<ul><li>$24.00 - $27.00 to start for hourly work, depending on experience and current certifications; on-call and overtime opportunities</li><li>Annual Safety Bonus</li><li>Tips</li></ul>For over 30 years, Smitty&rsquo;s Towing has provided 24/7 emergency towing, roadside assistance, and recovery services for AAA Members, Law Enforcement and the Public.
