WebCheckout is seeking a Front-End Design Engineer to lead the modernization of our web applications and improve user experiences. The Front-End Design Engineer will work strategically across multiple projects, helping product teams refresh existing front ends, improve usability, and deliver consistent, high-quality UI solutions. Job Description:</div><div>
Responsibilities</div><ul><li>
Redesign and modernize the front-end interfaces across multiple applications, focusing on creating reusable UI components and design patterns.</li><li>
Collaborate with product teams, designers, and backend developers to deliver cohesive and maintainable front-end solutions.</li><li>
Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Replit, Figma AI, V0) to enhance productivity, accelerate prototyping, and maintain code quality.</li><li>
Review and troubleshoot existing UIs to identify opportunities for improved usability, accessibility, and performance.</li><li>
Ensure front ends are responsive, performant, and ready for integration with backend systems.</li><li>
Contribute to and help evolve shared design systems and front-end best practices across teams.</li></ul><div><br>
Required Skills and Experience</div><ul><li>
3+ years experience in front-end development and/or UI/UX design.</li><li>
Expert in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.</li><li>
Deep hands-on experience with at least one major front-end framework like React, Vue, or Angular.</li><li>
Strong knowledge of responsive design, state management, API integration, and browser debugging tools.</li><li>
Experience working with Figma or similar design tools.</li><li>
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating front ends with backend services.</li><li>
Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve development speed, quality, or workflow efficiency.</li><li>
Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and projects.</li></ul><div><br>
Preferred Qualifications</div><ul><li>
Experience maintaining or building shared design systems or component libraries.</li><li>
Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).</li><li>
Experience optimizing front-end performance and responsiveness.</li><li>
Exposure to backend environments such as Java or Node.js.</li><li>
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.</li><li>
Proven ability to refactor or migrate legacy front ends to modern architectures</li><li>
Experience with Linux, ANSI Common Lisp, and PostgreSQL is a plus.</li></ul><div><br>
