</p><p>Summary/Objective
</p><p>The Youth Mentor position is responsible for the safety and wellbeing of youth ranging in age from 10 years to 17 years. Youth Mentors act as role models, mentors, and advocates to young people brought to the Crisis Shelter/Group Home who faces a wide range of challenges, such as behavioral and legal issues, substance abuse, and dysfunction in the home.

Able to sit for periods while driving a company vehicle at distances necessary to transport youth.

YOUTH MENTOR - PT MILESTONES

<div><p>Clinical Coordinators are ultimately responsible for the coordination of all clinical services, to include but not limited to: Person-Centered Plans, medical appointments, assessments and consultations, new admissions, Behavioral Support Services, and quality of data collection contained in clinical record. Clinical Coordinators are responsible for employee training of all clinical services, and in the development and reviewing of all protocols. Clinical Coordinators provide direct supervision to the Residential Coordinators. Clinical Coordinators maintain 24/7 responsibility for assigned homes. Clinical Coordinators work as a member of the Leadership Team to insure quality of services. All services are to be provided in a manner consistent with Volunteers of America Chesapeake &amp; Carolinas values, mission, principles and in accordance their policies, procedures, and practices as well as state licensing standards. Clinical Coordinators report directly to the Assistant Director.</p><p>
The Residential Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director, NVIDD, and is responsible for the daily health, safety, and well-being of individuals receiving services, safety of their living environments and the recruitment, scheduling, training and supervision of the staff providing direct support services. All services are to be provided in a manner consistent with Volunteers for America Chesapeake values, mission, principles and in accordance their policies, and practices as well as state licensing standards. Residential program sites operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year.</p><p><b>
REQUIREMENTS:</b></p><ul><li>
Bachelor's degree in a human services field, and at least one year of experience working with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.</li><li>
Must be able to work a 40 hour weekly flex schedule in an effort to meet the demands of the individuals in the home.</li><li>
Participate in weekend on-call rotation.</li><li><div><ul><li>

<p>The Academic Tutor supervises academic tutoring sessions to help program participants develop the skills required to master academic course material in specific subjects such as Math, English, Science, etc. as stated by the Lead Tutor. Provide individual and small group tutoring to students after-school through homework help and/or class material review. The Academic Tutor will also help develop and implement enrichment activities to enhance the participant's academic and social development. Other assistance might include; creating engagement activities and leading math and/or college preparatory workshops.</p>

Case Manager Generalist

<p></p><div><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>JOB SUMMARY</b></h1><p>
 The Leasing Agent is responsible for maintaining occupancy levels set by the Community Administrator.</p><p>
 Day to day responsibilities include showing and leasing apartments to potential residents, gathering and preparing information required for tax credit and affordable housing.</p><p>
 <b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></p><div><b>
 </b>&bull; Performs all sales and leasing activities to achieve the community&rsquo;s revenue and occupancy goals by greeting and qualifying prospects, conducting community tours and showing apartments, processing applications, credit screening, and criminal background checks, preparing the lease and move-in package, and ensuring a smooth resident move-in and lease signing.
 <br>
<ul><li>Inspects apartments prior to resident move-in and ensures apartments are in move-in ready condition and schedules any outstanding item to be addressed with the maintenance team.</li><li>Stays informed about current market and competitor conditions that may impact the community&rsquo;s occupancy and sales results, develops and implements short- and long-term marketing plans and goals to sustain occupancy, and follows the community&rsquo;s established policies related to concessions, specials, and other programs to boost occupancy.</li><li>Designs and executes marketing activities to create and drive traffic to the community, including implementing resident referral and employer outreach programs, using internet marketing tools (Craigslist, Facebook, e-mail, and other websites), and following other community-specific marketing plans, drives, and special programs.</li><li>Uses the on-site property management software (OneSite, Yardi, etc.) to track apartment availability, record traffic and leasing activities, manage resident and prospect data, and capture critical demographic and other information about existing and future residents.</li><li>Ensures that the community and show units meet the Company&rsquo;s standards for show quality by daily inspecting the marketing corridor and leasing tour, communicating maintenance and upkeep needs to the community&rsquo;s maintenance team members, merchandising and ensuring a physically appealing show unit and/or model and amenities, and preparing the leasing office for daily leasing activities.</li><li>Follows-up with prospects and new residents to ensure satisfaction by sending e-mail, thank-you notes, and cards or making telephone calls or other contacts to finalize decisions to lease and/or renew.</li><li>Executes and performs activities in support of the community&rsquo;s lease renewal program by preparing lease renewal letters and packages for residents, meeting with and contacting renewing residents in advance of move-out dates and ensuring that lease renewal documents are signed and implemented on time.

Our professional staff operates more than 40 locally managed and delivered programs. PROGRAM AND LOCATION:</b> VOA is recruiting a full-time Service Coordinator at The Village on Sage Street in Reno, Nevada. The Village is primarily designed to serve working people earning minimum wage, or those with other income sources such as social security or disability, as a low-income housing option. Full-time employees (working 30 or more hours a week) are eligible for a benefits package that includes paid holidays, vacation, health, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance coverage.</div>

Under the general work direction of the Community Administrator, this position will work with assigned insurance-based individuals moved into housing to assist them in retaining their housing while addressing other barriers they are currently facing. This position requires an in-depth understanding of the homeless population and the barriers to housing. The Case Manager should be well versed in and able to practice Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing and other case management methods. The Case Manager will connect with lodgers and facilitate them in successfully connecting with other services. The Case Manager must understand the services available and needs of the lodgers. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: maintaining a strong and collaborative relationship with landlords and program partners, assisting lodgers with purchasing basic necessities, counseling lodgers on how to remain stable in housing long term (through budgeting, paying bills, housekeeping, community building, transportation awareness, seeking employment opportunities and vocational skill development, increasing income, healthy socialization, and maintaining connection to services such as mental health, medical, AOD, etc.).</div><div></div><div><b><br>

Assist participants in securing benefits and/or income through vocational training, employment services, and job readiness programs.</li><li>
Order and distribute groceries on a weekly basis to participants.</li><li>
Assist in oversite of site-wide food pantry operations.</li><li>
Review individualized service plan with client and update as progress is made.</li><li>
Advocate on behalf of the client.</li><li>
Attend other agency events and meetings to collaborate with our services.</li><li>
Respond to agency inquiries and return calls to other agencies within one working day.</li><li>
Maintain client confidentiality.</li><li>
Participate in Volunteers of America and outside training sessions.</li><li>
Stay current with all Federal Fair Housing Trainings and Regulations.</li><li>

Qualifications:

EQUIVALENT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</b></div><div></div><div><br>
A bachelor&rsquo;s or A.A. in social work, human services, or related field is preferred. Must have basic knowledge and understanding of property management, fair housing, and renter responsibilities. Ability to communicate utilizing Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed Care techniques is required. This position requires demonstrated ability to communicate and comprehend oral and written instructions and requires general knowledge of issues and challenges unique to low income, homelessness, minorities, and persons with disabilities; must be able to utilize a range of interventions to work with clients with varying needs and levels of functioning. Must exhibit cultural competency, which is defined as a set of values, behaviors, attitudes, and practices within a system, organization, program or among individuals, which enables them to work effectively, cross culturally. Further, it refers to the ability to honor and respect the beliefs, language, interpersonal styles and behaviors of individuals and families receiving services, as well as staff who are providing such services. VOA strives to achieve cultural competence in a dynamic, ongoing, developmental process that requires long-term commitment. This position requires CPR and First Aid training within (90) days of employment date and recertification as necessary. A valid Nevada driver license and ability to meet organization&rsquo;s insurance carrier guidelines are required.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
