Voyage Care is looking for an experienced IT Security Engineer to join our growing IT Security team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in safeguarding our infrastructure, data, and servicesensuring we deliver secure, reliable systems that support our frontline care operations.
You&rsquo;ll work across cloud, network, and endpoint security, helping to strengthen our security posture while contributing to ongoing transformation in a modern Microsoft-based environment.
The Role
As an IT Security Engineer, you&rsquo;ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across our Azure cloud, Microsoft 365, and network infrastructure.
You&rsquo;ll act as a trusted technical expertresponding to security incidents, identifying vulnerabilities, and driving proactive improvements across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Security Engineering &amp; Architecture<ul><li>
Support the design and implementation of secure solutions across cloud, network, and endpoint environments</li><li>
Strengthen and maintain security controls across Azure and on-premise systems</li><li>
Contribute to the ongoing development of security standards and policies</li></ul>
Incident Response &amp; Threat Management<ul><li>
Investigate and respond to security incidents, driving remediation through to closure</li><li>
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend preventative measures</li><li>
Support ongoing security monitoring and threat detection activities</li></ul>
Risk, Audits &amp; Compliance<ul><li>
Conduct security assessments, audits, and vulnerability reviews</li><li>
Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards</li><li>
Participate in annual penetration testing and security exercises</li></ul>
Collaboration &amp; Advisory<ul><li>
Work closely with the IT Security &amp; Network Team Lead and wider IT teams</li><li>
Provide technical guidance on security best practices across the business</li><li>
Produce clear documentation, including incident reports and security guidance</li></ul>
Continuous Improvement<ul><li>
Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats, tools, and trends</li><li>
Identify opportunities to enhance security resilience and automation</li></ul>
What We&rsquo;re Looking For
Essential Experience<ul><li>
Minimum 5 years&rsquo; experience in IT Security Engineering or similar role</li><li>
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure security capabilities, including:
<ul><li>Azure Security Centre</li><li>
Azure Policy</li><li>
Entra ID (Azure AD) &amp; identity management</li><li>
Key Vault and networking security (NSGs, DDoS, etc.)</li></ul></li><li>
Experience with Microsoft 365 security and Conditional Access policies</li><li>
Hands-on experience with endpoint security tools (Microsoft Defender / Defender XDR)</li><li>
Strong understanding of network security (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, segmentation)</li><li>
Experience with SIEM tools (preferably Exabeam)</li><li>
Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, KQL, Python or similar)</li></ul>
Desirable<ul><li>
Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or AZ-500</li><li>
Experience securing hybrid or enterprise Azure environments</li></ul>

As we accelerate our move to cloud-native architecture, you&rsquo;ll be at the forefront of driving modern infrastructure practices including Infrastructure-as-Code, DevOps, and platform automation.
The Role
You&rsquo;ll act as a subject matter expert for Azure infrastructure, ensuring our platforms are secure, scalable, and highly available. Working collaboratively across IT teams, you&rsquo;ll help deliver reliable services that underpin critical care operations.
This role combines hands-on engineering, platform design, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to shape our cloud strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud &amp; Infrastructure Engineering<ul><li>
Design, deploy, and manage Azure services (IaaS &amp; PaaS)</li><li>
Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience across platforms</li><li>
Implement governance, security controls, and cost optimisation strategies</li></ul>
Infrastructure as Code &amp; DevOps<ul><li>
Build and maintain IaC solutions (Terraform, Bicep, or similar)</li><li>
Develop CI/CD pipelines to support infrastructure and application delivery</li><li>
Drive a &ldquo;shift-left&rdquo; approach to automation and repeatable deployments</li></ul>
Security, Monitoring &amp; Reliability<ul><li>
Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance controls</li><li>
Monitor performance using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics</li><li>
Support Cyber Essentials Plus compliance</li></ul>
Identity &amp; Hybrid Services<ul><li>
Manage Azure AD, SSO, and hybrid identity (Azure AD Connect)</li><li>
Support transition to cloud-native identity solutions</li></ul>
Backup, DR &amp; Business Continuity<ul><li>
Design and test backup and disaster recovery solutions</li><li>
Ensure systems are resilient and recoverable</li></ul>
Incident &amp; Problem Management<ul><li>
Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues</li><li>
Lead root cause analysis and deliver long-term fixes</li></ul>
What We&rsquo;re Looking For
Essential Experience<ul><li>
5+ years in Cloud / Infrastructure / Systems Engineering</li><li>
Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS &amp; PaaS)</li><li>
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, etc.)</li><li>
Experience building CI/CD pipelines</li><li>
Strong understanding of networking, servers, storage, and virtualisation</li><li>
Experience managing security, compliance, and monitoring</li><li>
Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, etc.)</li></ul>

Azure certifications (Administrator, Architect)</li><li>
Terraform certification</li><li>
Experience with containers and container platforms</li><li>
