We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Application Engineer to support the design, specification, and quotation process for custom-engineered equipment including skid packages, chemical injection units, and high-pressure vessel systems. This role bridges the gap between sales, engineering, and manufacturing, helping ensure that customer requirements are accurately translated into reliable, cost-effective solutions.
Requirements:
<ul><li>Designs products such as chemical injection units, hydraulic power units, process systems, utility packages, pressure vessels, &amp; structural skid frames etc.</li><li>
Works with a design team to create process flow diagrams, piping &amp; instrument diagrams, hydraulic schematics, equipment layouts, and fabrication drawings.</li><li>
Sizing and specification of instrumentation, control valves, positive displacement pumps and other components and completion of system calculations are a mandatory requirement.</li><li>
Perform mechanical design and fabrication for various types of packaged equipment and modules including conceptualization, material selection, assembly, testing and validation.</li><li>
Works with vendors to procure or contract required parts and work.</li><li>
Proactively document and communicate project plans, costs, and tasks for team members and supervisors.</li><li>
Uses computer-assisted design (CAD to perform structural analysis (FEA) on skid structures per offshore standards (DNV &amp; API).</li><li>
Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production per customer specifications and industry standards.</li><li>
Review P&amp;ID, layout drawings, fabrication drawings, etc. as needed for creation of skid packaged units and modules</li><li>
Provides engineering technical support to the production team during the build and commissioning of your machines.</li><li>
Constant customer and vendor interaction and user manual creation.</li><li>
Perform testing on skid packages and equipment with shop personnel and customers to validate design per project specifications and requirements.</li><li>
Communicate with customers on project requirements and deliverables including design reviews.</li><li>
Troubleshoot equipment in the assembly shop with technicians during testing and assembly operations.</li><li>
Must be capable of taking direction and following through with assigned tasks.</li></ul>
Required Skills &amp; Competencies<ul><li>
Multitasking - Often the engineer in this role will be asked to participate In different phases of multiple projects, the ideal candidate would have the ability to balance his/her time and meet project schedules</li><li>
Understanding of Hydraulics &amp; Pneumatics - Pressure, flow dynamics, etc.</li><li>
Ability to work with a flexible mindset to handle multiple product lines and multiple projects simultaneously</li><li>
Provide review and mark ups to structural drawings, piping drawings, P&amp;ID&rsquo;s, testing procedures, operations manuals</li><li>
Strong professional verbal and written communication skills</li><li>
Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team</li><li>
Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment within allocated project hours.</li><li>
Highly organized and efficient</li><li>
Proficient with Microsoft Office</li><li>
Familiarity with offshore packaged equipment design standards and requirement</li><li>
Working knowledge of DNV 2.7-1/3 ,API RP 2A &amp; AISC</li><li>
Able to identify and understand graphic symbols in P&amp;IDs and PFDs per ISO 10628 &amp; 14617.</li><li>
Capable of sizing pressure relief valves per API 520 &amp; ASME</li><li>
Capable of sizing hydraulic accumulators per API &amp; Industry standards</li><li>
Working knowledge of industrial piping standards such as ASME B31.3</li><li>
Working knowledge of industry hazardous area classifications such as API 505, NEC, ATEX &amp; IECEX.</li></ul>
Required Experience &amp; Education<ul><li>
5+ years of experience in skid mounted equipment within a manufacturing setting, including but not limited to structural design, system component selection and sizing, technical writing of manufacturing procedures.</li><li>
Bachelor's degree In Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Industrial Engineering.</li></ul>
Physical Requirements<ul><li>
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.</li><li>
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.</li></ul>
