<div>Position Description:

To perform a variety of semi-skilled manual duties requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions. In addition, to perform welding procedures, including fabrication and assembly, in compliance with WN welding procedures and WN engineering drawings. To perform preventative maintenance of welding machinery. To adhere to the general safety plan. May be required to do other duties as requested by supervisor. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgement. Performs work at a quality level consistent with Wabash National standard practice. Supervised by supervisor, general foreman, manager or department head.

Qualifications:

. Must be able to pass a pre-employment weld test and drug screen

. Basic reading, writing, &amp; verbal skills

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

Experience and education are a plus; however, it's not required. Wabash provides training for all welding positions. Upon receiving an offer letter from us, you'll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor.

Physical Demands:

As a Welder, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle, and operate tools or controls for the entirety of their shift. The employee needs full range of motion in arms and hands, all Welders must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some assemblers also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.

Welder I

<div>At Wabash, Welders perform a variety of tasks vary from location to location. Welders have a key role in the manufacture of carbon/ stainless steel and aluminum products and subassemblies. Welders are a crucial position in the manufacturing process and are therefore expected to produce high-quality work while upholding production standards. We require Qualification Weld Tests and, in some cases, Certification Tests depending on the product line. Applicants that do not pass the initial Weld Test can be qualified by attending our own in-house Weld School, demonstrating that they can pass the Weld Test after training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Below are examples of the type of duties you could be responsible for:
<ul><li>Own and help improve our performance in Safety, Quality, and Delivery</li>
<li>Carbon Steel /Aluminum / Stainless Steel MIG and/or TIG weld at a level that meets quality standards</li>
<li>Read engineering prints, weld symbols, and follow specifications</li>
<li>Basic operator preventative maintenance for welding related equipment</li>
<li>Maneuvering in tight and small spaces</li>
<li>Work at heights of 15-20 ft.
</li><li>Performing additional work assigned by the supervisor or team leader, which may require the employee to assist in different departments</li>
<li>Wearing approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses with side shields, respirators, hearing protection, etc.</li>
<li>Completing assigned duties in accordance with safety, policies, and practices, including your individual safety, as well as the safety of co-workers, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace.</li>
</ul>
