Job Summary Wagstaff LLP is a full-service law firm in Abilene, TX and has an immediate opening for a full-time Legal Assistant to work for attorneys whose practice areas include property and land use law, contract and commercial law, and civil litigation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and possesses excellent communication skills. Legal experience is preferred. Experience in drafting, proofreading, editing and formatting documents, and client communication is essential. The candidate must also be highly proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe. Working independently and demonstrating professionalism in a fast-paced, demanding environment is essential to success in this role.Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>Provide administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff</li><li>Communicate by phone</li><li>Organize and maintain physical and digital files</li><li>Process incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries</li><li>Prepare and track shipping</li><li>Maintain calendars and schedules</li><li>Prepare and manage project reports and data sites</li><li>Manage project task lists</li><li>Transcribe legal documents</li><li>Organize files and coordinate records</li><li>Perform minor legal research</li><li>Prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses</li><li>Analyze legal documents for accuracy</li></ul>Excellent salary and benefits, including paid health insurance, holiday, vacation and sick pay, and 401(k).Job Type: Full-timeExpected hours: 40 per weekPay Range: $38,000&ndash;$45,000 annually, commensurate with education, training, and experienceBenefits:<ul><li>401(k) with Employer contribution</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Schedule:<ul><li>8:30-5:00 M-F with 1 hour for lunch</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>High school or equivalent (required)</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree (preferred)</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
