SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Additionally, the ME maximizes product efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. This is a high visibility role with exposure to multiple layers of the organization and is a key component to the growth strategy planned for Wakefield Thermal.

Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Strive towards a culture of proactive safety.</li>
<li>Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.</li>
<li>Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.</li>
<li>Creating and maintaining BOMs and production routings for new and existing products within our ERP environment</li>
<li>Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.</li>
<li>Works with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.</li>
<li>Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management</li>
<li>Liaise with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.</li>
<li>Conducts Value Stream Analysis, manufacturing process flow redesigns, time, and motion studies as part of the planning process.</li>
<li>Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and capture potential efficiencies.</li>
<li>Leads plant employees in conceptualizing, planning, and implementing, and sustaining continuous improvements by utilizing Lean Manufacturing tools.</li>
</ul>
 REQUIREMENTS:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/ Manufacturing engineering required.</li>
<li>2-3 + years&rsquo; work experience in a manufacturing facility in an engineering role with proven track record of delivering results. Strong internship experience will be considered in place of.</li>
<li>Fabrication knowledge, (CNC Equipment, machine shop type environment)..</li>
<li>Proven ability to see facility projects through to completion, on time and within budget.</li>
<li>Able to effectively carry out a vision and collaborate with Production, Materials and Quality teams.</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of solid works.</li>
<li>Technically proficient in applicable programs relative to process improvement &amp; MS Office.</li>
<li>Ability to present in a clear and concise manner within all layers of the organization.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, organization and communication skills.</li>
<li>A high energy, team player with a go-getter attitude.</li>

Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee is exposed to noise. The noise level is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required in designated areas. The employee is required to wear safety glasses when in the plant.
